CONTROLS - customizable

Arrow keys to move
Z to jump
X to shoot a weapon
C to shoot a weapon (and hold still)
M for map (you can use TAB, but it won't work in IE)

ABOUT THE GAME
=========================
Snailiad is an 8-bit-inspired game, which uses the NES palette most of the time, and uses NES music I wrote using Famitracker. I hope you enjoy it! :-) There's some references to eight-bit classics that helped inspire Snailiad, and you might also find a cameo or two from RPG Shooter: Starwish, if you play long enough.

ABOUT SAVE DATA
=========================
Starting with Flash Player 10.3, Flash save data gets DELETED if you clear cookies or browser history. If you're having trouble with saves, this list might help:
1. Don't clear your cookies or history
2. Make sure the Flash Storage Settings say "Unlimited"
3. Make sure "private browsing" is OFF
4. Make sure "clear browser history on exit" is OFF
5. Make sure "block sites from setting any data" is OFF (for Chrome users)
6. Don't run a program that deletes stuff, like CCleaner or Better Privacy
FINDING 100% ITEMS
=========================
Once you defeat the final boss, you unlock the "radar"! The radar tells you how many items are left in the current area.
HIDDEN MODE
=========================
There's a hidden mode in Snailiad! Once you've unlocked it, it will be one of the choices in "NEW GAME", below EASY and NORMAL.
TROUBLESHOOTING
=========================
If you set your browser zoom below 100%, the bottom and right sides of the game will get cut off. Please make sure your zoom is at least 100%!

Stuck?
It seems like a fun game, but it seems you've made it possible to get completely stuck. I've wound up in the area where the green snail says "Watch out, snaily! Without the ice snail power, the next area will be too difficult!" but I can't leave the area to the right of that. I guess I don't have the right power yet. But it shouldn't have been possible to fall into this area if I didn't yet have the ability to get out. Unfortunately I walked over the save point next to the green snail, so I can't find a way to get out of here without completely starting the game over...
You do have the ability to get out. Head up and to the right, toward where you fell in, and then head to the right. You can climb the wall, fall off to the left, and make your way up to where you fell through. Continue to the right, and you can make your way to Ice Snail.
If you still can't figure it out, send me a private message and I'll show you what I mean.

NOM NOM NOM!
Like the game, but its just metroid whit other characters :S
I think the game is not rlly your own thing, thats why i give you this 6, its to much metroid and to little own invention!

Good
But i did not finnish the games as a result of one annoying thing:
Whenever I went to save game, my game would freeze for like 2 mins. SO ANNOYING!
That's weird. Normally it only takes a fraction of a second (on my computer it takes less than one frame, so there's no pause). One developer has this tip in their game description: if a Flash game takes forever to save, try setting your storage settings to unlimited. Maybe it'll work for you.

are u serious???
I gave you the six because the u did a good job making the game, but in reality, you just turned samus into a snail, took away all of her best moves and made her able to climb walls, the levels were even excruciatingly similar, all you did was make the environments look like something outta mario, the little spiny thing that crawled around even did the exact same thing as some of the enemies on metroid, in summary, stop trying to steal nintendo's games, they will simply crush you, i did like the name snaily snail though, it gave me a nice chuckle
You didn't play very far, did you?

Snaily Is Cool!
cute snail characters. cool moves. like how you mashed up some of the old console games into this one. you have great potential to make it as a video game designer. way to go!
