ABOUT THE GAME
=========================
Snailiad is an 8-bit-inspired game, which uses the NES palette most of the time, and uses NES music I wrote using Famitracker. I hope you enjoy it! :-) There's some references to eight-bit classics that helped inspire Snailiad, and you might also find a cameo or two from RPG Shooter: Starwish, if you play long enough.

Big thanks to:

AdamAtomic, for Flixel!
xdanond, for drawing some stuff!
newstarshipsmell, for lots of testing!
jsr, for Famitracker!

ABOUT SAVE DATA
=========================
Starting with Flash Player 10.3, Flash save data gets DELETED if you clear cookies or browser history. If you're having trouble with saves, this list might help:
1. Don't clear your cookies or history
2. Make sure the Flash Storage Settings say "Unlimited"
3. Make sure "private browsing" is OFF
4. Make sure "clear browser history on exit" is OFF
5. Make sure "block sites from setting any data" is OFF (for Chrome users)
6. Don't run a program that deletes stuff, like CCleaner or Better Privacy

FINDING 100% ITEMS
=========================
Once you defeat the final boss, you unlock the "radar"! The radar tells you how many items are left in the current area.

HIDDEN MODE
=========================
There's a hidden mode in Snailiad! Once you've unlocked it, it will be one of the choices in "NEW GAME", below EASY and NORMAL.

TROUBLESHOOTING
=========================
If you set your browser zoom below 100%, the bottom and right sides of the game will get cut off. Please make sure your zoom is at least 100%!

Awesome game.

This game is awesome. Snails are really awesome. They can climb any surface, use powerful weapons, change their abilities when needed, and they can jump in any direction. The bosses are simple and easy to beat, but they are also very funny.

But where is the secret boomerang? Please help me.

And SAROTH, I going tell my way to beat moon snail. His first form is real easy to beat, just stay on the floor, and face him when you shoot your devastator with rapid fire to deflect his attacks, and deal damage to him. His second form is a little tougher, but still easy to beat. When he is out of his shell, if he is on the floor, move to the ceiling, and if he is on the ceiling, move to the floor, and fire your devastator at him. When he is in his shell, and move around the room, just avoid being hit by him. When he is in his shell, and shoot bullets at you. run in the bullets are going, and avoid getting hit. When he is in his shell, and on the floor sleeping, just avoid his Zs that come at you. Do this throughout the whole fight, and eventually he will be defeated. I hope that this make your next fight with him easier.

Quirky, charming, just downright fun

The perfect throwback to old platform gaming. Nothing to complicated, and not much of an emphasis on graphics, but that's the whole point isn't it?

I was intrinsically reminded of NES/SNES generation titles and the wave of nostalgia that came with it was nearly overwhelming. The controls, although incredibly simple, seemed to do a number on my brain at first. I found myself constantly jumping when I meant to shoot. But alas, that was more a problem of my own brain rather than a flaw of the game itself. The gravity snail addition was brilliant, although I must admit it was introduced perhaps a little too early in the game. It seemed completely unnecessary that I would need to go around corners after I was already able to practically fly through the air. Eventually I became so sufficient using the Gravity Snail that I literally never ended up touching walls in the final battle.

The charm of the game is what really drew me in. The snails are hilarious, and just the entire idea of a snail-driven story with a snail protagonist is so insanely adorable that I had a gleeful ":3" smile the entire playthrough.

And I can't forget the music. Absolutely loved it. I found myself humming the little tunes days after playing for the first time.

Very well done, I look forward to more of your work and it will be interesting to see if you can manage to top this masterpiece.

Awesome!

I have seen rankings in going through (worst to best) D C B A S. I never knew the S was for snail until today.
