The Cannibals are coming in 10 days!

In that time you must build your economy to keep Robinson healthy, sane and happy, but most of all, prepare a fortress so when the cannibals come, you are defended.

This game was made in 3 days from scratch by "Team Happy Shack" for the July Newgrounds Game Jam.

Major revision needed

The mechanics and such of the game seem fascinating and usable...but that doesn't matter when you're dead. On 3 tries, I couldnt get past day one. It takes up nearly all of my time just to locate tools and resources, I can't find the river or pick up rocks to build, and cant locate meat or coconuts in inventory after I get them. Definitely needs some sort of tutorial stage, and the bars for food and water decline too rapidly. Its a fortress-building game? Then make it go slower!!

SOOOOOOO much potential but . . .

this game could vary easily be improved in a number of ways
1) no loss of ANY bars while you sleep (i don't wake up starving after i have slept even though i haven't eaten in over 14 hours)
2) add a button to slow down time for those of us, myself included, who like to enjoy our games not see how fast we can rush through them (basically time moves way to fast for you to enjoy the game)
3) make it a little more realistic (people can go more than 3 days without water and we don't die of starvation in just half a day)
4) have a difficulty setting
it is still a good game but it could be a great game!

To be honest...I really think this game sucked, Don't get me wrong the graphics and the sound were there and they were good but the actual gameplay was horrible. You can live 2 days without water and 2 weeks without food. The speed in which he deteriorates is horrible and makes gameplay kind of junk. Anybody ever been camping before, how much time did you spend eating and running back and forth from the local water source? What I do believe could be done because I see a great potential in the game would be to make gameplay longer than 10 very short days, also make the level at which he deteriorates slow down dramatically, add more character development in example more buildings, clothing options, weapons etc. The jist of it is it was a good game for being done in 3 days but it wasn't a good game for being done, also a battle with the natives or something would have been acceptable instead of the gay ending thats all for now.

Waaaaay too hard!

I really, REALLY like the concept and I digg the novel, but this is friggin hard! There's NO good strategy to begin with. The most fucked up thing is, that his motives drop rapidly when he gets one on zero. Plus the TWO motives you need to fulfill for a huge amount of tie, that's just way too hard. Sorry, that's why only 3 stars.
