The Cannibals are coming in 10 days!

In that time you must build your economy to keep Robinson healthy, sane and happy, but most of all, prepare a fortress so when the cannibals come, you are defended.

This game was made in 3 days from scratch by "Team Happy Shack" for the July Newgrounds Game Jam.

Funny intro, but...

If this was just a movie, I'd give it an 8 or something, because it's got really good humor and animation.

It being a game, however, I have to dock it a shit ton of points for the meters all going down too fast and it generally not telling you anything. I figured it was like Minecraft; you get some materials, notice the sun is going down, take a nap, go scrounge for food and water and start making some defenses.

Instead, I started getting materials, and his hunger and thirst and tiredness went down all at the same time, really fast, and soon enough he was sleepy. So I let him sleep. During sleep, he began to starve and thirst, so I woke him up, and he didn't have a full bar. I ate some coconuts (which give like NO hunger back) and began searching for water... and searching... and searching... oh, those are deer... and searching... and now he's tired again. But finally I found the damned river, so I drink, eat some more coconuts and go hunt for those deer. Got some meat and went to sleep. Soon after, he died of hunger, thirst and sleep deprivation.

... What?

Seriously. The game looks great, and I want to be able to look at what I'm doing. I don't want this to be Starcraft, where there's pretty much only one right way of doing things in a specific order in a specific timeframe or else you get zergfucked. Let the player relax and actually explore the island a little bit. That's the point, isn't it? For them to enjoy the game?

It's hard to even get through the first day.

I like the concept but your thirst and hunger decreases to fast. If one should even have a chance beating the game one must find the objects really fast and that everything you do decreases faster than should be. First time I didn't even find the pickaxe. It takes 5 minutes before you die in this game from full stats and you suppose that one should make a base in that timespan when the tools lies all over the island it's frikkin hard to even not just wanting to die in this game.

get the hang of it

You have to play it more than once to get the hang of it. skip the cutscene by clicking ending should have been better
