To be honest, this is the first time i've been sucked into a shooter. Great job.

The only problem is the my save has been deleted and I was just 2 freakin levels more to finish the game (i think). I don't plan on starting it all over again but besides that, i think this is the best shooter/rpg/visual novel/sim game EVAR

really good, but...

theres a major glitch thats made it almost impossible to go on for me, on the account that it keeps on killing me :/ sometimes the ship will suddenly become attracted to walls, and it will eithre trap you, or kill you, and sometimes it makes you go to an enemy, killing you

Quite the accesable epic

The schmup portion was pretty standard and the upgrade system did breath new life into the game. What i think really drove me further was the fact that this game had an interesting enough of a plot to keep things moving along, even if the gameplay hadn't changed much between each world. I liked though the rpg elements of the game, even if progress could occur at a snails pace. My only real complaint is the amount of text which was kind of drab and dull. I understand you were trying to go for an anime-like setting but the characters seemed to rely a little too much on such conventions. Writing good interesting dialouge is pretty tricky though, so It didn't really break the game though.

Definently a great game to play.

I ended up playing this game for about four hours now, still counting. The gameplay is alright, you have various weapons you can use and switch during the battles, and it's hard enough that it presents a challenge that even if you lose you just want to try again. I was kind of hoping for more bosses when your exploring the area, but they are given upgrades so I can deal with it. The story is good, and I care for the characters and what happens in the story. Within the first few minutes the story was alright, but after that it just sucked me right in. The backround for some of the stages just seem a bit wierd of out of place, and some of the bosses looked out of place as well. (Ex: a giant snail and what seems to be an ice dragon.) Otherwise, I'd say it's a fun game to play and a good story to go with. I should probably go eat now...

A good start for a programmer :)

This is a very good game for your first time making one. At least that's according to your profile...Still very good work. The story is lacking a bit as we don't usually have much time to bond with characters except for the cafe. I know this might result in dialogue but I'm an RPG junky so I don't care . Theres another thing. Though I don't mind inanimate dialogue I feel like that was a major downplayer in this game. Seeing the same sprites over and over again kinda got boring after awhile and especially confusing since they only stood two sides of each other while all this other crap was going on (explosions, lasers, more explosions, etc.) so maybe a little more movement with the characters. I'd even take a portrait of what was currently going on during the scene (ex: Deuce's ship facing off against Mare). Variety is a big problem in this game. Enemies, Bosses, Stage backgrounds, and cutscene backgrounds, are just rehashes of each other. More variety would be much appreciated. I'd also like a more diverse soundtrack. This is more of a message to the artist who composed it. I'd like a few more then 10 tracks. I sometimes feel like I'm only listening to 2 or 3 different tracks. The tracks you do have are wonderful don't get me wrong, I'm just asking for a little more variety. I like the dating sim part of the game but I feel like you could've done more than just the cafe. However this review is not entirely negative :D Even though I complained about the dating sim getting to know the characters was really cool and the end result in granting a wish for them felt exhilarating. Gameplay is really fun. I found myself frustrated at times but it was always my fault and not the games. Modules are a great way to customize your ship and allow the player some flexibility. And even though I complained about the story characters are still very likable. My last comment will be why wasn't Ginny really mentioned in the end? This may have been because of what ending I chose but still I feel like you just threw her under the bus. Other than that great game. I hope to see more from you.
