having completed your masterpiece...

...I can whole-heartedly give it a ten star rating that I reserve for only the finest of games. You've certainly crafted a marvelous game with an emotional story and gorgeous soundtrack, as well as some fantastic RPG elements.
Sadly, no game is perfect, and I have to point out a few flaws. While I could find no issues with this game off the battlefield, combat felt a bit clunky overall. Movement was stiff, and weapon selection was a bit awkward, not to mention having to reach halfway across my keyboard to use overdrive. Hit detection also felt a bit wonky at times, and I often found myself phasing through or getting stuck on walls -__-. Another small complaint I had was that some of your graphics were a bit lackluster, such as laser beams that always point horizontally, even if they're moving vertically. Some of your worst graphics appear in the boss fights, though. The giant snail boss was a bit ugly and could've used some animation as opposed to being one static image, and the monolith was simply awful to look at. I know you could've done a better job on that. Lastly, repeating environments got boring after a bit. ure the game was fun in the start, but it began to have a sort of "beenthere donethat" vibe near the later levels.
Don't get me wrong, this is a wonderful game, and certainly the best I know of on NG. It deserves all of the praise it has earned so far and then some - it just has a few issues that you may want to consider for your next game. Be that a sequel to Starwish or a whole new game entirley, I wait with baited breath to play your next work of art.

simply amazing

The perfect combination of story, gameplay, and integration. Definately not something you see every day on here. My only qualm is the lack of new enemies, and the levels seemed recycled. That being said however, the pros in this game vastly outweigh the cons. You have a real gem on your hands here, and I'd love to see this developed into something even bigger. An independent save system, something code based, would be nice so transfering to another computer could be done with ease, but I understand the difficulty behind that with the absolute amount of immersion that has been put into this game. The music, incredible. The story, immersive. The gameplay, addicting. The whole, simply amazing

This game is more than superb. I can honestly say I am moved by the story. The emotions held within the text shines through with such an extraordinary radiance. The game system was fun, and very responsive. I can't believe a game so amazing was created with Flash. I'm in awe.

Bravo!

Where do I begin...

I've been spending the last few days beating this game bit by bit. It was a terrific experience. The characters were likeable, the story - though a little confusingly set up sometimes - was solid and nice, the music was very good, the actual combat wasn't half bad and boss design was mostly solid. I was surprised about the actual length of the game, which when you pay attention to the story, spans quite some time.

On these points I have to compliment you and I hope to see more games of you in the future.

So. Praise aside, there were definitely a few points that could be improved.

Something that bothered me a whole lot was the cookie-cutter level construction. While you had a nice variation of enemies (who sadly looked very similar altogether) and bosses, the sheer amount of levels forced you to use them again and again. I understand that a game of this length is difficult to fill with vastly different bosses, but this needed to be adressed.
Another thing that bothered me a little was the way the levels looked. While you gave all of them a distinct feel, by adding different pictures in the background, it was sometimes hard to see obstacles because of that same background (that applies mainly but not only to the wood levels where you literally couldn't see the forest for the trees sometimes).

I want to wrap this up now and end on a high note, by saying that this was most definitely one of the biggest, most complete flash games I've seen. It had nice moments and even though the gameplay has a few minor issues, the story more than makes up for it. For that I give it the full score.
