Could have been great.

I wanted very much to give this game at least an 8, but the ancient ruins level killed it for me. The game has a great story, great characters, and combat system. The levels were paced well and I was having fun.... until the ancient ruin level.

This level feels like you got tired of the game and rushed it. Too many enemies and the boss is impossible to survive. 40+ attempts and I've given up. I simply can't defeat this level and I'm level 67. Too many unavoidable hits with the boss and considering that I normally reach the boss with almost no health, it's simply too much.

Was fun while it lasted.

The most impressive shooter I have ever played.

GREAT Story Line. Normally I would cut open the entire game piece by piece. Not for you sir. Literally the whole game's story was just as good as watching a great movie or reading a marvelous adventure through space and even time, if I may.
Starwish has got to be in the top ten games I've played on Newgrounds, no, the entire internet at the number 1 spot. Truly this game was perfect in every way a gamer could enjoy. The classic side scroll shooter was amazing, and never kept me bored.
The story you came up with was better than most of the books I've ever read. Most games I have played either have a really good story or a really good game-play.This, my friend, has both an amazing adventure for it's story as well as a great shooting/weapon system for the normal game-play, and that is why you get a perfect 10/10.

P.S. You are the first 10/10 I've ever given, I'm the one who doesn't believe in anything being perfect, but this is a job well done an infinite amount of times, therefor perfect.

Loved it!

This game is extensive and very enjoyable. The combat system is a bit repetitive, but that's only after playing through the game a few times. The stat and module systems add for varied builds, like the Luck/Intel power-leveling build suggested in the guide the author has.

The thing that really got me was the soundtrack. I ended up getting it from the link in the game and I listen to it quite a bit. The Main Theme is just so well done...

The characters were well done, too. The interactions were good, as was the story. I just really loved this game. Highly recommend playing it!

1 problem

this problem in no way takes any points off the overall score im giving to the game. just a future insight if you decide to continue the series. make the characters more expressive, and match music with moods in some places. there were sometimes i would find myself receiving terrible news to the most cheerful music in the game.

That was an beautifully made game, the art, the combat, the upgrading, the music and the story. It all fit together nicely, though some of the story and talking were rather long for my liking, especially in the beginning.
I liked how you could upgrade you ship and level up in your own way, not being restricted to one type of battle. As well as the seemingly endless supply of upgrades on hand.
The music was very fitting and well made as well as helping to fit the atmosphere and improve the impact of certain scenes.

The only fault I can see in this game is in your Author Comments, saying that it is a Dating Sim. I did not see this as much of a Dating sim, as you could never ask user choice questions to romantic interest, or give gifts or find out how far in a relationship you were with someone.
The main character kinda seemed to be a "playa" as whenever I hung out with the female characters he seemed to get infatuated with all of them. Though this doesn't hinder the game that much, I wouldn't give it the description or genre of a Dating Sim.

Overall, this was an amazing game with very little faults. A good Long game, especially if your not looking for a 10min game.
