It's like you're determined to make me hate this.

After playing Toss the Turtle I'm left with a bitter, acrid taste in my mouth and overwhelming disappointment. If you're waiting for the part where I say, "Just kidding!" keep waiting.

It's not fun, it's tedious. I get that some enemies can kill you, and in a way I get that hitting them from the underside is bad, but it shouldn't be for all small enemies. It's annoying to jump up and hit an enemy right on its head only to be propelled into the next and die a foot later. Simply put, going up just isn't that fun when you have to restart every time

I mean it's creative, it's cooky, it's got great visuals and sound, but when it comes down to it, there's not a lot of game. I get the appeal behind these games, but this one is simply more luck than any skill or even useful upgrades.

Your hit detection is a bit wonky too. It seems like the head constitutes one eight the actual hit radius and die takes up the rest. You've got no hope if you have to hit them from the side. It's above or bust. That kind of breaks up the flow and I find myself worrying about getting it right than about trying to hook up massive combinations. I float against the wall, and then once you get where there is no wall you're basically screwed if you don't hook up massive combos, then you get the crappy hit detection--no maybe unforgiving is the right word--and you die soon after.

It lacks any real appeal for me to keep trying. It's not bad, it's just not good.

what does the star do?

A little unfinished

Between levels, when I would try again, the game would try to load an advertisement, but never finish, making the game unplayable until I reloaded it. The 'reset all' function in the shop also didn't give me any money back, even though the shopkeeper said "Here's all your money back". It's a fun game, but it needs some more work.

It's not Toss the Turtle...

Challenging at the start, hits the sweet spot somewhere in the middle, then gets challenging and tedious at the end. I could harp on about the tempramental controls, the poorly-defined hit boxes and dropoffs, etc, but my big complaint is that getting launched unavoidably upwards into enemies you can't see or react to doesn't get any more fun with time. The enemy generator nees tweaking. In the end it was more frustrating than enjoyable and I gave up before the end, something I normally hate to do.

Challenging, but great!

This game was/is tons of fun! The controls are fairly easy to get used to as well. In a way, it also reminded me of Kid Icarus (considering that you have to ascend higher and higher). Worth playing again and again! The only drawback to it is the ads. Every time I want to watch a movie or play a game, an ad always shows up. Other than that, this deserves a 10 out of 10!
