Umm, where are the medals?

The game is good! i personally think it would of been better to have it beat em up or something like that. At first the game is hard, but as you get stronger, level up, upgrade, and etc. I like that you can buy some characters like dad, Mario, and others including the Turtle. The game is fun and challange is good, i also like the big enemies! they look badass, especially that Jack'o Lantern thing. I also like Rufus!

Now what i don't like in the game. So, at first your Demons is small which explains why you can be beaten by small Enemies like those little Mushroom thingies with wings, but when you reach the final level and become a big demon, you still can be beaten by those small mushroom thingies? why? also, those spike things can be annoying, i'm jumping up with full Health and one smike can kill me with 1 hit even though i had 2 full health? that's not fair lol. Also, i don't like the part when you can lose by jumping down into the bottom of the screen, i saw myself standing one time and i But one thing i hate the most is when the Boost or a Power Up is infront of me and i crash into something that sends me away from it :(

The gameplay is fun and addictive. Especially the part when you can jump on the big enemies and beat them until their skulls smash. My favorite huge enemies are: Some Alien overlord guy, Jack o Lantern, Alien, and T-rex with wings lol! also, this game should have boss battles in my opinion.

The upgrades are AWESOME! My favorites are Lighting and Star. Star makes you invincible for a minute or so one which is awesome! and lighting takes you up killing every enemy, as long as you keep crashing enemies and power ups with lighting, it won't wear out! i also like the huge Rocket. Bombs can also be very helpful! i never used the Wall jump though......

the enemies are awesome! i don't like the Spikes, but rest is kinda cool! Little skulls with wings are cool! the big enemies are awesome! T-rex with wings, Optimus Prime, right? The Dragon, Alien Ship. And as you go further up, you meet stronger enemies. When you level up, you take out normal big enemies with 3-4 hits, but if you go further in Space bigger and stronger enemies appear like The Huge Jack O lantern guy which looks awesome, some Alien overlord, a huge Fish, The Alien, and some big guy dressed in the underwear lol.

So, yeah! great game! Nice way to kill-time and have some fun.

9/10 and i vote this 5!

Hope to see more of Rufus! i like ''Rufus Da Demon'' game alot!

Good job!

So, here's all the pluses and minuses in my opinion

+Cool enemies
+Fun and fast gameplay
+awesome Upgrades
+leveling up
+Character select(if you buy)
+Cool power ups and boosts
-Little things can hurt you

I think this game owns me 100point medal, cuz i played it for like.......3 hours?

Excellent Work!

It was great, but I wish there were more medals, I noticed Super Sayans were explosive boosts, I was hoping maybe if we reached OVER NINETHOUSAAANNDD we'd get a medal, or maybe the game would end and thered be like a final boss fight or a cutscene. like maybe after 9000+ you get to fight Raptor Jesus, or like Optimus Prime LOL, but given that it was your work, I applaud you and I still have to wait until I unlock to 20k+ skulls special :) 10/10

I've never really understood the fun of upgrade-games. I can see how getting stronger as the... um, "story", unfolds is a good thing, but progressing for the sake of progressing has never been one of my favorite goals of a game.
Goin Up takes everything that is good about upgrade games, includes a few crossover-jokes, and voila, you have a front-page, four-out-of-five stars game.

The art style is a pleasant mix that suits this type of game very well. The animations are smooth, with a few bugs here and there. Overall, this is a nice game to watch, and the different characters have been re-made to fit together nicely. A lot of effort must have gone into the sprites. and it shows.

Goin Up fails where every other upgrade game so far has failed: the music. There's only one track, and it is repetitive and annoying. It's a good thing there's a mute button, otherwise I wouldn't even have tried to get the achievement for playing one hour.

I have to admit, the concept is pretty solid: jump on enemies to collect money and receive an upward boost. The money you can use to buy stuff that will keep you alive longer or give you more upward boosts.
The game actually has four objectives:

Get to level ten!
This is nothing more than a very obvious way to keep you playing. Jump on a lot of enemies to make your character grow (which has absolutely no effect I believe).

Get to the top!
I'm not sure if this actually is an objective, but it sure is hard as hell. I've reached a height of over 7000 ft, and it didn't seem like it would be coming to an end soon. If it was, there should have been something to indicate this.

Buy everything!
This is what you'd expect in an upgrade-game, but, strangely enough, it's actually greatly underdeveloped. There's not a lot you can actually buy, and most upgrades are way too expensive to get, especially when you want to do something else on the same day that you play this game.
Also, some of the upgrades are far stronger than others, improportionate to their price. For instance, the "Dad" skin costs twice as much as the "Turtle" skin, but has more disadvantages in comparison to the latter than you'd expect at this cost.
The ultimate objective, I believe, is to buy the secret character, which costs 20000 skulls. That's right, you'll have to jump on 20,000 enemies in order to see what this is. That means you'll have to play the same level over and over again until you finally have enough money to see what the hell it's all about.
I haven't seen the secret skin, for my patience failed me, but I don't think anything's worth playing this game so long for.

Earn all achievements!
Not very special, not very funny, not very original. Since the achievements are in-game, you won't earn any newgrounds-points, and that isn't much of an incentive.

Overall, Goin Up isn't a bad game. It has what any upgrade-game should have, but I still don't quite see why it got front-paged. The graphics are nice, the music can be muted and I guess the different objectives are a welcome addition. If you're looking for a game with a compelling story and innovative gameplay, look somewhere else. If you're looking for twenty minutes of fun jumping on flying goomba's heads, Goin Up is the place to be. If you have nothing better to do and are willing to sacrifice a lot of time, just to see that secret character, Goin Up definitely is the place to be. Apart from a mental clinic, of course.
