Enjoy a sport that has been the pass-time of kings, hunters and warriors for 4000 years!

George Plimpton's Video Falconry was brought to our attention by the Judge John Hodgman podcast. Originally made for the Colecovision in 1983, we've gone to great lengths to painstakingly port one of the few existing copies.

REVIEW.

i dunno why many people give this one a "1"and "0" and any other low scores...
most of them say,like :
bad control
bad graphic
poor gameplay
the hang of it to play the game

but i think the otherwise,:

THIS GAME IS GREAT!
pretty nice concept,gameplay,
plus MEDALS! I LOVE MEDALS!!!

this is a SKILL game,duh !?
it needs SKILL to play,thus
improving your SKILL .................

i like this game
like a NES game
the music, just like a NES game (even though a little boring)

Great game and all

The controls are too much for my brain. I love this kind of music so I'm sad that I cannot play any further. Anyway, you get your 9/10.

Great Game

Its very special and unique. It's not too hard, but it's challenging, and you've gotta love the retro colours and music!! :D

You even got the sounds right!

Wow, what a fun little game. I can imagine myself having spent hours sat in front of the TV, during my formative years, slowly coming to grips with the finer points of falconry.

The way you've made it and thrown the detailed lampoon on a history in there as well just makes me want to clap you guys on the back, for putting so much effort into writing the piece, before and during the development of the game itself.

While relatively simplistic, I was surprised by the fact that the bird of choice appears to be a NASCAR driver - only turning one direction. This came to be quite a challenge when you control the bird's movements and oversteer on various targets.

I'm going to have to spend some time on here to put this all through the paces properly, because I think I'm capable of beating the game and having a lot of fun. Why didn't you give us a choice of birds? There are plenty of great birds of prey to use, from the tiny, agile Merlin, all the way to the Golden and Bald eagles. That could have given the game a lot more detail (though possibly too much for a 1970s / 1980s title, such as this one.)

It is interesting how they chose to implement a single "Yaw" button, vs multidirectional options in the original game. I've heard rumors of a Golden Eagle being available though!

You know what's weird?

I can't actually tell if that backstory was true or not. Oh, how I'd love it to be XD

In other news, this is a brilliant ColecoVision parody, with awkward, annoying controls, high difficulty, and awesome retro graphics. I honestly did like the idea of a falconry game...why hasn't anyone else thought of doing a game like this?

Once again, Mr. Fulp, you have outdone yourself. 5/5 9/10.
