This game is large in size and may take a while to load. It also uses a lot of processing power and is recommended that you play it on a computer with 1-2 gig of ram and a decent CPU.

Battle for Wayland Keep is a prelude to the upcoming game "Ortus", which has been in development for almost a year. This 'minigame' (Battle for Wayland Keep) was put together to give players a sample of the history of the world in Ortus, and a 'tip-of-the-iceberg' sample of some of the game mechanics we have been building for Ortus.

-Mouse to move/select abilities
-WASD/arrows to control the camera
-SPACE BAR to toggle PAUSE, you can issue commands while paused

If you are having issues with loading or bugs, please inform us so we can try and make your experience more enjoyable :)

This is a very well crafted game!

Any game with a prostitute that is always ready for business gets a 10 out of me! OH YEAH!
speaking of which, it would have been nice if you added some sex scenes, but it was amusing nonetheless >:D

I have two big problems with this game

First, whenever you do a spell, Argus stops doing whatever it was you told him to. There were many occasions when I sent him to go fight and told him to throw lightning at a far away foe. He stopped moving and did this. These ranged attacks shouldn't stop him from moving.
Which leads to the second problem. Argus loves to stand there and get his face filled with arrows. A group of melee fighters will get cut down by Argus because he attacks anybody who attacks him. Archers however don't elicit this response. This causes Argus to die. Pathetically easily I might add. Also when enemies are focused on the gate Argus will just stand there unless you click on them one at a time so he can shuffle over and whack them with his sword.
You need to give Argus a range in which he will attack all enemies. This will stop him from being killed by archers who are standing 2 feet from him because you have to click on them one at a time.
You've got some interesting mechanics here, and it reminds me of Diablo, but that's not necessarily a good thing for a defense game. Diablo was about exploring, this is the exact opposite. What you need here is automation and streamlining, not frantic clicking on each enemy at a time. I was annoyed that some magic also only killed one at a time, and there was no way to upgrade these.
Lastly, this game is too repetitive, and I was bored by week 5. This is the worst thing that can happen in a defense game, which is normally a longer, slowly paced game. If the player is bored, all the fancy artwork, voiceacting, and writing(all of which were very good!!) will not save your game.

wow. simply wow.

The music, the gameplay, the backstory... it's all spectacular! Well, maybe a bit repetive, but thats how a defense game is supposed to be. I love how you took the time to really develope the story of each character (aside from the main plotsmen which most flashes and professional games alike have been doing as of late). The thought that you were able to fit this on NG's flash games within realms is mind boggling!

As far as improvements, theres a few minor issues which i think would probably make the game better. To kick it off, I'd like to see an option to make the camera follow your hero. It's a bit annoying to have to press the arrows/wasd/pan while hittin hotkeys to stay alive. Next, the money from battle seems a little low. I can barely keep my sword up to date due to repairing the gate so much! Also, to break the repetativeness, maybe toss in a minigame? It'll even solve the prior problem by making it a gamble!

All in all, it was easy to see how this game got 1st place! I'd actually be willing to pay for a title this well done. A few fan tweeks and you're set! 5/5 10/10 perfect score in my book. I can hardly wait to see future titles!
