I tried to make this game as intuitive as possible, but for anyone who has any questions...

-Click on the seeds on the right to send them into the tank. They will look after themselves if they can.
-The round hole with teeth that lights up is the shredder. Don't like how your ecosystem is developing?
Shred it all!!!
-The higher your complexity, the more different the organisms get.
-Plants need CO2, but too much can kill your animals, and vice versa!

I won't tell you what's what, as some is obvious, and also it'll spoil the surprise for the others!
Just know that everything fits into the game as a plant, herbivore or carnivore.

If people like this game, I'll get onto making a scoreboard for people to send high scores...
One day I hope to make 3d games, or take 2d gaming to another level, but I need more know-how and technology to get any further...

Anyway, enjoy!
=):-)

PS
I accidentally added my login name in the title field, it's not 'Batmantiz', it's 'Extra-Terraruim'...
Oops...

perfect balance achieved

I managed to get it into pretty much perfect balance in the late game, on the low Co2 end with the complexity bard max but the co2 bar just wiggling back and forth. took some time, but herbivores and self replicating plants for the win.

It lives!

Finally another artificial life sim. Though I dont seem to be able to get a higher complexity of life before everything dies... Also I am not sure if there's an actual system behind what is gonna spawn next. I would love to see a further developed installment one day.

BatMantiz responds:

The older the organism, the more o2/co2 they use.
The trick is to learn WHEN to add another seed...
Yes, there is a spawning system, but it is a combination of complexity and luck...

Worth a look!

I almost didn't give this a chance, but a second look made me realize it was pretty interesting. The graphics need some work to make it more attractive, but there's a really good start here. It would be nice to be able to learn more about each seed as we go along. One glitch I found: the floating seeds keep getting trapped underground where they can't grow.

BatMantiz responds:

Thank you!
I tried to keep the graphics simple, as the tank can get quite full...
I am still trying to fix this bug, but this can be hard as it doesn't happen often enough to find out exactly what is causing it...

Fun and challenging

This game is quite confusing, but I actually got the complexity bar full.

BatMantiz responds:

Well done!
I'm glad you could work out enough to fill the complexity bar, that's what gives you the more bizarre critters. You can get 'special' seeds that can give you aliens or UFO's, but only when the bar is full...

Nice concept, fairly fun

The main problem is that once it starts getting complex, the screen is too crowded to tell whats happening.

BatMantiz responds:

That is a very good point, I tried to keep the graphics simple to offset this factor.
I deliberately left the user to discover what each critter/plant does but it's hard to find out if you can't see it, eh?
Thank you for your review, it's part of what makes me get better at what I do!
