Shmusicup (Shoot-music-up) is a hybrid of a rhythm/music game and a shoot'em up where the enemy bullet patterns are generated by any mp3 chosen from your music collection!
Choose an mp3 from your computer or select one of the free songs provided to begin.

Note: After much investigation and research we finally found out the problem where some players cannot play the game in some browsers. Unfortunately this problem lies in the Adobe Flash plugin, and is caused when more than one Flash is running (including advertisements). The bug is in the computeSpectrum command, which we used in our game. Adobe has already been notified of the bug and a detailed bug report can be found here: http://bugs.adobe.com/jir a/browse/FP-147
This problem is most prominent in Google Chrome, whereas most players with Firefox and Safari are fine, although some did reported the issue. (An update to the Flash player should solve the issue in Firefox / Safari). So far there have not been complaints for Internet Explorer.
The game now traps the error and provides instructions on how to work around it. A workaround for this problem is to either close any other Flash running, or run the game in a different web browser. Alternatively PC players can also download the game from www.shmusicup.com.
It has been an arduos task trying to fix this elusive bug, and we're pretty disappointed that in the end we need to depend on Adobe's fix, which obviously will take some time.
Very sorry for the inconvenience caused. We hope that Adobe resolves this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding!

Huh?....
I seem to be experiencing the same thing that 'pokemonchix' is experiencing...
Well apart from that this is a very unique concept that I didn't even know was possible... I must know how you did this. This game does seem like one of those things where the creator is using the game to expiriment on something new and see how people like it.... so what i'm trying to say is, this new concept could be used in so many feilds... it just needs expanding into something huge then it would be even more fantastic.
Hello Clozal, thanks for playing! First of all may I know if the problem you experienced is the Z button not reacting? If you would do us a great favour can you please send us your OS, browser and keyboard layout through a pm? We are investigating this issue and as we cannot reproduce the error on our machines it's hard for us to know exactly why some of you guys cannot press the Z. As for the music recognition , you are definitely right in saying we will be expanding this technology in other areas as well, we spent lots of effort developing it and we want to put it to great use!

i love it.
omfgi have all my good music on real player, on my music librairy i have very fast paced music. but im adding this toi my favorites list i cant get enough of this!~

Great idea!
I like the game. The idea is an original spin to the shoot em' up genre and the graphics are good. I minused some points because my character wouldn't do anything when I pressed Z or X. P and the arrow keys worked fine though. Is this part of the bug everyone else is experiencing or is it just me?
