Hey there Newgrounds, it sure has been a while since I uploaded anything substantial.

This is the tale of a young child and his imagination, based on the characters Allen and Merve created by my friend Jim Hort around 5 or 6 years ago when we were both in High School. I always liked the characters and wanted to tell some sort of origin story for the pair. Any meaning deeper then that you can decide for yourself.

This film was started over 2 years ago, first as a music video for a band, then after that fell apart it very much became its own thing. During the production of this film I have changed home 3 times, jobs twice, and god knows what other madness. I never want to take this long to complete anything ever again.

Heres hoping this film gets my butt back into gear and back on track with my film making.

Edit: Thanks for the front page Tom and Company

yup

Music wasn't horrifying but kinda annoying.

So was all the things in the telescope just his imagination?

Gerkinman responds:

Something along those lines.

Nostalgic

I really liked the animation and the music, I felt it was reminiscent of cartoons I used to watch on cartoon network when I was younger. Well it made me smile anyway. Keep up the good work!

Gerkinman responds:

Never really watched anything on cartoon network but im glad it made you smile.

Hmmmm

I really like how colorful it was, plus the lack of defined drawn borders on the objects really made everything pop. I'm not so sold on the overall story/whatever, but certainly the visuals were something.

And don't worry about people who disliked the music a bit, while it's sort of grating at first: If you've listened to the Crazybus title music, you know it could get a lot worse. A LOT worse.

Gerkinman responds:

Getting the animation to look how it does is quite easily the most time consuming part of the creation process, Im glad you found it visually engaging.

Hmmm...

Not much on it, but points for the unique animation style and music.

Gerkinman responds:

Not much under it either, or to the side.

interesting

love the music, not much fun of this style of animation, but I can say, it is made very well and smooth... and repair me if I am wrong, is this story about angle of view on our world, where not everyone see things the same?

Gerkinman responds:

Im not sure that I have the power to repair you if your wrong, but your hypothesis does seem sound so im not sure you need repairing anyways.
