The Killer was inspired by the month I spent traveling through and learning about Cambodia. You can learn more at

UPDATE: for those who may find the music overbearing, there is an ambient version of The Killer available at http://www.gametrekking.c om/the-games/cambodia/the -killer/play-now

Agree with bloodstainedhitokiri

It's more than just a game. Letting us be the killer rather than the victim plays with our conscience and makes us ponder more on the weight of Cambodia's suffering. Could you kill an innocent, defenseless person? I know I couldn't, but such injustice has actually happened (and happening in other places). That dirk555 person has still SO MUCH MORE to learn in this life.

I think that this notgame is very very good. People don't seem to realize that it isn't about the gameplay, but the meaning. Idk if dirk555 is for real or just trolling. Seriously. My world history education is very spotty, and I never knew about the Khmer Rouge until now. I think that you informed at least one person of the cruelty of Cambodia's past is reward enough, isn't it? Of course, I didn't shoot the guy. I didn't lose heart even if you panned down and showed all the thousands of other dead bodies. If I could've saved just one person, then that would be fine.
Great game, 10 stars.

Has everyone seen the entire "game"?

The message at the end was really powerful. I look at some of these comments and I'm not sure if anyone has really seen the entire "game" from start to finish. I think that you should include the Cambodia dialogue from the very beginning to the end. Otherwise I think the message gets lost and the purpose doesn't come off correctly.

Beautiful music and an interesting idea.

It shows the inner thoughts of all of us; While the trek was long, and it was annoying to hold the space bar that long,at the end,its a test.Whether you shoot the man or not. This may be a game, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have mercy.
You have to think from the other ones point of view and your own little persons.
You're both tired after a long walk that took 'days'.One fears for his life.He has just been forced at gunpoint to walk the entire way.
I didn't shoot the guy.

A personality test

The reality is what do YOU do, SPOILER: I didnt shoot him, I dont know why so many people are complaining when they are too detached from the idea of mercy in games (or notgames as the case may be) that they dont consider it an option
