DK Arcade Returns 2 is out! newgrounds.com/portal/vie w/582339
[EPIC EDIT] I updated the API so any medals you should have one before, you are now going to get! Also, I think I fixed the infamous second hammer bug from lvl 1 where you fall all the way down!!
[EDIT] Added a Mute button and fixed some minor glitches (Not the hammer one!)
Help me get this to a collection! Recommend to any page you seem viable, like VG Remakes! :) The "Recommend this" link is on the bottom left

Arrow Keys - Move left and right, and climb up or down the ladders

It's been a long time since I last submitted something....4 years to be exact. During this 4 year hiatus, I always thought from time to time about creating something again, anything, but I had lost the inspiration or excitement I once had. But now, I'm back!
I started this game for fun, as I love Donkey Kong and I noticed there wasn't a decent flash remake on the site. I was NOT aiming to be original...I repeat, I am NOT original with this, I simply re-created it from scratch in flash. This was purely for fun! I took the liberty to change a few minor things but the game is the same as the original arcade version.
This game was quite the challenge, since I started it last year and it was not until now that I had the technical skill to complete it. I actually applied alot of things I've learned at college and it goes to show how much one can apply theory to practice!
Anyways, I'm happy to finally submit something to newgrounds again, and I hope you enjoy this complete DK Arcade Remake!

i swear this is some mission impossible shit every time i get to 75 i die for some gay reason i clime the ladder im on the edge fireball dude goes down the other one i die i jump to hig i die b4 i hit the ground thats some pansy shit after all the games mario been through especailly supermario 64 his TRIPPLE jump is higer than the death range on this come on man i had the hammer on 50 i jumped ona pie i died and then had nerve to give me a medal saying it hit me in the face wtf-_______-"

Yeah Best thing ever!!
I Always wanted to just play old classic games from the past!! Like games on NES AND SNES Mostly Finally i have look over this website for one of it now theres finally one on newgrounds and on 2011 awesome i love this OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

too many glitches etc.
Falling through the floors multiple times because of the hammer is very annoying, and the collision detection seems off. The distance you fall before dying is also very pathetic. I don't remember the original being as strict. In level 4 all you need to do is fall ONE level and you're dead. Either add more lives or allow level select since it's nearly impossible to get past more than a few stages with 3 lives.
The original is even more strict when you die from falling. And it's not impossible, I can do it with my eyes closed and so can alot of people. You just aren't good enough, I guess hahaha

Awesome Classic with a Medals Twist!
This game brings me back, and the addition of Medals makes it more fun to replay!
