One day, while you're testing a level for a developer friend of yours, you accidentally discover a hidden world inside the game. Alphaland is the story of exploring that world.
Arrow keys or WASD to move
Up/W/X/Space to jump
[Alphaland is a minimalistic platformer. It's pretty straightforward to play, so I'd rather not say too much and let you explore it yourselves. I hope you enjoy it!]
Kinda reminds me of metroid.
Y'know because of the items you get. The bugs look like metroids, too.
What a strange feeling...
This game looked like bullshit to me at first. But I overcame through my first impression and played some time. I couldn't have been more wrong abotu this game. It is not only a small pixel plateform game. This game as a deep story and brought the player to feel something that I cannot describe. The music is awesome and the game wouldn't be very good without it.
I will look forward for the other game of the developers.
Hell games as art argument, how you doin?
This is definitely one of the most inventive games I've ever played here. The minimalist graphics set a good tone for it, and the ambient music made the game very haunting. I never thought a game about a block jumping around a nearly featureless environment could end up being an art piece musing on mortality and existence, but welp, there it is. This game, simple as it is, is definitely something to be considered for the "games as art" argument.
Most of the low scoring reviewers don't "get it" and that's unfortunate. I won't say it's the deepest piece of art out there, but there's some substance to this. I also found the lack of handholding to be a good quality; I only found myself stuck at one moment and that was easy enough to overcome just through fooling around for a minute. You've got a nice statement here.

Finished it, look like an art game parody. Everybody hop in the art game bandwagon ! Woo !
"Additional Code": really ? That take two people to make something like this ? Wow, I could make one of those game every hour.
Though I think it would be more affecting if, when you win, it "fixes" the game, so that if you hit restart or reload the page, the floor doesn't drop out, you finish the level and it goes straight to credits.
