hmm cool idea

One of the betterr pico games
control sucks sadly repititive and could you mention you jump with "s"
thats the one control i actually learned could you mention what they are

Torrunt responds:

It is mentioned. The Tom Fulp character behind you in the main area after the cinematic tells you all about the game. In the patch I'll probably move in in front of the player so when you walk past you know he has something to say, as well as other fixes and changes.

Pretty, but doesn't follow through

I love the art style, but unfortunately that seems to be all that was done correctly about this game. The controls were, as someone else mentioned, very slippery and unresponsive. Maneuvers were quite difficult to pull off, and bullet firing speed appeared to lack any normalized restriction system, as I could sometimes fire in rapid succession but other times I couldn't fire three bullets without mashing the key for a while.

I only played through half of the first level, as I couldn't deal with the aforementioned problems. From what I saw, the level designs were irritating, what with the aiming system only accounting for left/right/up/low firing, and the enemies seemed repetitive, but I can't really judge because they may have gotten better had I played longer.

Like I said, the art was very good. I was excited to try the game when I saw it, having noticed a thread post about it on one of the forums I visit (though unfortunately I can't remember which), but unfortunately my hopes were dashed. However, it's obvious that there was a fine deal of effort put into this. I'd be glad to give it another shot if the controls were fixed up.

Interesting idea.

It's not a bad game, really. The fundamental concept is amusing enough, and there's enough variety in the enemies to keep you on your toes...but it could use some more level variety, and your character controls like he's perpetually on an ice level in some other game. More responsive controls and more levels would have gotten this a better score, but it's a decent offering to start with. Expand on this!
