EDIT- OOPS! Looks like NG messed up the file a bit, you shouldn't be able to see the edges of the Flash. Just.... pretend it's not there or something.
A small clip from a 5 minute film I am working on for school. Animation is a little choppy since I need to finish the whole thing in 11 weeks, blech. Trying to keep a nice and appealing look to the animation whilst taking small shortcuts to get it done in time (and making the lack of frames less noticeable... there are 62 frames in the cheetah animation).
The background style is inspired by Disney (but less detailed since I'm stil learning painting techniques, but I'm getting there), whilst the character animation is inspired, in part, by Digimon the Movie (where there is no shadow, the colors are pastel-like and the animation is pretty detailed. It makes it easier to work with).
The final animation was intended to be targeted at an audience within the age range of 8-13, but... after making some of the film... I kinda want to up the age rating, just a bit :P The style is not as colourful as I originally intended, but I like it that way... I fail at sticking to my own brief, haha.
Animation time- 13 hours (just for animating the cheetah. 62 frames.)
Background painting and animation time- (2-3 hours)
Total animation time- 15-16 hours.
I'll probably put up some more clips, and the animated storyboard for the animation.
I think animating the background is my fave thing right now. :P Can't wait to start animation at Uni, then I can learn how to animate properly, whoop! Got a little stuck with the water, but ... it's okay for now :P
