Author Comments

**Note: Yes there is a lot of words. This is an INTERACTIVE VISUAL NOVEL. So reviews that say there is a lot of words, that shouldn't be a bad point, Take this for what it is, not what you expect it to be. Thanks.**

Created for Newgrounds Game Jam 4.

Team Mohawk Dairy!

Our handicap was that all graphics had to be created OUTSIDE of flash.
We went with a hand drawn and scanned, classic retro feel.

Everything was created in 72 hours.
The story was written in 72 hours.
The art was done in 72 hours.
the code was written in 72 hours.

Hope you enjoy.

Can you get All 4 endings?
True ending is the best.

Cool Game

Thus game is epic. Mostly because it has 4 different endings, and they are all very good endings. The art is unique too. The music is very atmospheric and it really does suit the game's area. So, all in all, this is a very fun interractive movie adventure.

A wise man once told me...

...that beauty lies not in the possibilities, but in the limitations. Actually no, that was just one of my teachers on why he wasn't a fan of straight-up fantasy. But seriously, you really made the best out of your handicap. I like mystery visual novels that have a noir feeling, and your drawing style hit the nail on the hammer. It reminded me slightly of Hotel Dusk: Room 215. The sprinkled humour and pop culture references were a nice treat. The descriptions were also fleshed out well; I feel like I would have enjoyed the game even without visuals.

Some suggestions for a possible visual novel in the future:
- You might want to try to lock the True Ending until a certain condition has been met in a previous ending. This way, you'll be able to retain more replay value. (An idea grabbed from 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors.) This probably coincides with the suggestion for a "Continue" function, which has already been said. It's just that I managed to get the True Ending on my first run. I still went through it, but it would be nice to have the True Ending as a final reward.
- (Not really a suggestion, but) Since you won't have the "no-flash" handicap, you'll be able to pay more attention to character animation. I enjoyed Norm's creepy talking animation at the beginning, but I got a bit bored of it afterwards.
- I find that mini-games and even inventory interaction, are nice additions to any visual novel. Of course, they usually aren't crucial to a storyline, and can be substituted with narrative. Just sayin'.

All in all, a job well done. I had fun. Looking forward to your future works. I'm totally a fan now.

A lot of these things will be implemnted in our next project. keep an eye out for it.
