CONTROLS:
Arrow Keys - Move / Aim
Z - Shoot
X - Jump
C - Change Weapons
Spacebar - Pause / Open Map

You can also use WASD to move and JKL to shoot/jump/change weapons, however on some browsers/keyboards you may run into issues with too many keys being pressed at once, nothing I can do about that.

PLAY WITH A CONTROLLER:

If you have a PC Gamepad, I highly recommend using the Joy2Key Software. You can download it: here: http://bit.ly/NCx4h

Saving - Progress through the stage is saved automatically at every major checkpoint. If you have to leave and come back, your progress will still be there!

Bugs - If you do find a bug, please report it to me via PM. Be as descriptive as you can, I can't fix things if I don't know what went wrong!

Sticky Keys Bug - If the keys feel like they're sticking, character keeps running after you let go, please read the third post in this thread: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1123318
This is a bug with some browsers/systems and there's really nothing I can do to fix it.

Great game in concept

It's just that Flash isn't a very good platform for long games like this. That said I enjoy all the work put into it, the depth of the voice acting and the length. I don't know how long all the other stages will be but this game must be massive, not to mention all the different little mini-games. On par with old SNES platformers and brawlers, and that's what I think you were going for.

That said, fighting enemies was pretty frustrating, especially coming back to a screen to find everything respawned when I stepped out for just a moment. Because of that it's very unrewarding to fight enemies and I found myself just running past them. Other then that my only problem is the graphics.

I'm sure that it would be difficult to get high quality art for such a long and expansive game (from what I see each stage has new tiles, enemies, people etc.) but right now it's the only barrier keeping your game from connecting better with people IMO. Your sprites and backgrounds are very flat and dull, and I think it takes away from the experience. Riding through the tundra on snowmobile shooting at other bikers was awesome, but it would be even more awesome if the art was detailed and immersive, to an extent.

Not a bad game by any means it's just that improved graphics would add so much to it. Maybe start practicing for your next game, read an art book or something?

Overall Bad.

GRAPHICS: The Graphics were the best thing about it,not saying that they were good as they were very... blocky when looked at closer with somethings were also unrealistic anatomy wise. 3/10
SOUND:The music was a bunch of annoying trance music that looped the same few seconds OVER AND OVER AGAIN.The voice acting was generic and painful to listen to. 2/10
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay was extremely frustrating due to the clumsy controls and bad aiming. An improvement would be to have a gunstar heroes mechanic which let you aim without moving i.e: Press k to stand still to aim. 2/10
ORIGINALITY: This game: WAT R ORIGNALTY??? 1/10
Overall: 3/10

more tought

I have to agree baout the controls they are very clumsy and it is obvious that they are not designed to fit the game there is no chance shootin while jumping and avoiding or if u wnat to target enemy u have to move in his direction thus positioning urself so bad that more likely u will be hit
graphics are not great ether
need a controls page in the game itself not just in descripiton
redesign controls and this would actually be playable

Just no

If this was an attempt at recreating a nes or snes game then you have failed quite miserably. Snes and nes games were the classic retro pixelated fun that we still adore today. This was poorly textured vector graphics with a complete lack of proportion or any realistic anatomy. Couple this with the terrible voice acting which made me want to tear out my hair and the weak trance music; this has failed. It could have been brilliant but you lacked any originality and the game mechanics themselves made it notoriously difficult to actually play the game well. As someone earlier mentioned you've linked the arrow keys to both movement and aiming when you could have easily linked the aiming to the mouse allowing smoother and more precise shots.

So all in all, the graphics were poor, the voice was poor, the music was poor, the mechanics were poor and the idea was poor. Try harder before uploading a game to Newgrounds and get the opinion of a third party before releasing it to the rest of the flash portal.

Minute

Couldn't even stand 1 minute playing it, the controls are horrible in every way, if you move forward or backwards then the aim does it as well, it doesn't work at all, more if you have a straigh line when you can only jump to avoid bullets and nothing more, at least that was the first level, oh and seriously are we in the 90'?
And in relation to another commentary, no, NES games pretty much have way better controls and you can move freely. Basically: Fix the controls, it's a shooting hame, and some improved graphics will do just well, I mean, I've seen better ones in the 90'.
