This game was a labor of love. When I was a kid I used to play all of these text adventures and I really enjoyed them. So I wanted to make one myself, and I did. I also filled it full of colorful art to help keep it interesting. I know not everyone is going to like this, and I don't care. I made it for fun and if just a few people enjoy it then it was all worth it. Thanks guys, stay cool.

Notes ----------
The game autosaves any time you enter a new room, so don't worry about saving
Melee combat is automatic, just like in the old days of text games and muds. Spells however must be manually cast by the player.
If you find a relic, you can equip/dequip them under 'Equipment'
There are five Relics in the game.

Good, but too easy

The whole thing is too linear. You have to do exactly this one thing, before you can continue. I managed to get through it with relative ease, only buying one potion of health (spending your money on armor is better for not losing health). Also, because I didn't improve anything else until my dexterity was above 20, I could kill enemies with weak attacks, because they hit me maybe one time in 15. After that, I just had to raise my other stats a little, in order to not take an hour on the stronger enemies. Maybe having a different stat, or combination of stats for dodging? Also, the heal spell, even with only 40 mana you could use it to heal instead of potions. Especially once you get the mana-replenishing stone. You can just equip that and walk around, and it usually fills your mana back up by your next battle.
But I have only been saying the bad things. The good things are:
Great plot
Good controls
Good variance of monsters
Good monster power
Good art
Good equipment system.

If you just want a fun game to play, this is really good. I love it. But for those wishing to be challenged by the difficulty of a RPG, this may not be as good a choice.

Liked it, but it needs some programming work

I really loved the feel of this game and the hybrid between text-based adventures and graphic, turn based RPG. I've been playing this game for almost two hours now and I made it to Formoth and a little past it, but I find that the enemies are near impossible to beat at this point, and not because they are too strong, but because the battle system won't let me land a single hit on it. I had this problem throughout the game but at this stage in the game it has just appeared to have gotten worse. In battle I would end up getting 20 or more misses (not an exaggeration) to every 1 hit I got in on the monster, it was quite frustrating, but I loved the story and the art so I kept going, but now that major handicap with the constant misses has made it so I don't have enough mana to heal myself after getting constantly barraged by attacks and not being able to take out the foe before it kills me. That and either the system did not allow for you to earn gold fast enough, or the items in the game were too expensive, because I could only afford maybe a potion or two before going back out through 5 or 6 screens of crawling through enemies.

All in all I gave you a 7 because the artwork, the story, and the music alone give this game enough to stand on, but I couldn't give you a 10 because of the programming flaws. I've tried to get past this part of the game several times, but now I'm just throwing in the towel, which is sad because I really wanted to see the ending.

Problem

I love the game, but my character couldn't hit the near side of a barn. Seriously, my attack was high and I had a lot of health, but I couldn't beat the Boss Man because I couldn't hit him or half the enemies I fought. Anyone else have this problem?
