this is my final project for art foundation

and the submission that i submitted an animatic for

its changed abit but i hope you enjoy and i hope that you understand it :)

OKAY: i'm gonna clear two things up i am a leather wearing meat eating person and the message of the video isnt to not harm animals

the message is that we dont usually think of where our stuff comes from. we dont see bacon and think of pigs, we dont see clothes and think of where the fibres come from. even if we know where everything comes from we dont have that in our minds. and the toaster bit is because my friend found a mouse in his toaster once, so i always think of mice when i use mine...(his house id disgusting srsly)

Very good

It looks like you used rotoscope, did I guess right? The animations style slightly reminds me of Waking Life by Richard Linklater. I also like the title you've chosen. Yeah I know that finding a title wasn't as difficult as animating the whole thing, but still, from the first time that I've listened to Eyes Wide Open by King Crimson I've always been impressed by this way of saying, and the atmosphere of the video recalls so much of that song to me. Congrats, it was really good.

Well done.

I think it's actually quite funny how a pig can become so many products we use every day. Good thing for not wasting hm? :) Also, RJM639, I'm assuming you didn't read the author's comments.

I have to ask, why did you use a double negative, Tetley? It confused me, but due to your wording and the animation, your message is to NOT harm animals, but to inform the public of how ignorant we can be, correct? Great use of line, I really appreciate your hard work when it came to this final product. It's different than other animations, and the experimental genre happens to be my favorite. Keep up the good work! :)

Oh right.

I'm guessing this is some kind of vegan thing? I don't really understand vegans. Just because a few people stop using stuff that comes from animals doesn't mean they'll stop mass producing them. Not using it just means the animals were killed in vain so its kinda contradicting. Anyway I liked this vid. I like the animation style in particular. I didn't understand it completely what with the mouse into toaster thing so I give an 8/10.

Extremly well done

I have nothing against the flash, it a artistic representation and many people can see many things. Only the artist knows. Extremely well delivered.

Kind of lost me

Following the plot is simple enough. Until I saw chicken head turn into a egg and the mouse into a toaster. Yeah, LONG shot I can imagine the chicken head fitting in, but the mouse? Sure, rapping a cow for milk is another long shot I could have bought, but the mouse? Really? You lost me on that one.

I respect your opinion in this flash. Pretty simple logic to follow through, expect for the two oddities, but I don't feel any deep revelation coming from this.

The graphics were good, the style is sort of clever, and it must have some original perceptive assuming there is meaning behind the two unclear scenes. Minus three for failure to commit a complete understanding.

Oddly, no one really understands anything completely. Don't kill yourself over it.
