This film was completed before I started work on Tarboy, and I figured it was about time I packaged and released it. It was my third year animation project in college and the first larger scale short film I completed. It was also the first project completed that Hania and I collaborated on.
The production of this was an absolute nightmare to say the least. Working on this project was the reason I decided to do Tarboy completely in Flash.
My overall pipeline for animation looked something like this: 1.Draw images on paper. 2. Scan into Photoshop for digital paint. 3. Bring into morphing software for head turns 4. Export into Flash for character animation. 5. Export into After Effects for compositing. 6. Export into Premier for Editing.
I'm thinking this will receive a mixed response, but at this stage I'm glad it's finally out.

Very Different.
This is a very interesting style! I hope you will do more like this. The music was appropriate for the movie, and the detail/effects were stunning.

That was so freakin' epic!
And yet I'm still not quite sure what I just watched. Though I am accurate in assuming that this is a take on Bible story, right?

perfection
this is truly the best flash animation i have seen... ever, really.
the music, the art, the style, everything. perfect.
hard to review something perfect.

Outstanding and breath
The Animation:
I don't know the insides and outs of animation but I'm sure this was very hard to complete. I love the gothic style of Purged and since I don't really understand much about animation I will leave it at that.
The Story
The story is a little confusing but it leaves open the door of interpretation, from what I can gather I presume the main protagonist is Eve, from the biblical text of Genesis, the first women on Earth and the first to fall into temptation. The beginning shows what happens after her fall into temptation, later after she is blasted from the bliss of God's world she is dwelling on her choices and now tries to resist temptation but is far to late. Trying to escape God's impending rather she runs yet is captured my the chains of purgatory and is left there for all eternity. I hope I'm not incredibly wrong or that would be quite embarrassing.
The Music
As always Hania delivers with some amazing piano and vocal combinations, the musical score really complements the gothic style animation.
