This animation was for an English project, relating to the themes and symbols of the book Great Gatsby. We interpreted the meaning behind the painting Nighthawks, recreating the painting in Flash. Then we added a story and music to reflect the life of a worn down, married man in the 1920s.

Way off.

Sorry bud, but as good as it may be on its own this interpretation of Nighthawks is way off base. The painting was originally created in 1942 to reflect the mood and feeling of America after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the isolation of the big city. I will say that in the context of the Great Gatsby though that does make some since, but it doesn't work due to the time period differences. Good effort though, I did enjoy the application of music in it.

That was really well done!

I love how you captivated the mood, and settings. Even the simplistic are really helps your arguement. Simple sometimes says so much more. I also loved your choice of music. Great stuff!!
