The art was good but the game was irritating.

I imagine, or rather I'm hoping, that these games are made as an effort to showcase the art they use. You certainly make no attempt to claim it as your own and there is a link to the artist's web page in the menu. Though from observing the original pieces you did edit them to make the 'differences'. I wouldn't mind that so much if at the end, like a reward, you could have made a gallery at the end of the game so the players could see the original work.

Try as I might, I don't think I could deny the advertising as a factor in voting after playing this game. I say this because of the second major problem with this game. The second problem was the time allotted to spot the differences. There wasn't much time for me to spot more than one difference before the time ran out. At this point it's more the varying degrees with which each player can observe every drawing. Still, I believe there is too little time allowed to play the game. Given my personal experience, time usually ran out before I could spot another difference. I kid you not; I actually had to go back through about 10 times or so just to find all the differences in the first two pictures. Eventually I memorized where all the differences were in the first two sets so I had enough added time to find all of them in the second half of the game. That means I had to sit and watch that stupid ad at least three or four times, and once more at after I beat the game, for at least the 10 to 15 seconds intermission that was forced upon me to watch. Since when did flash games become more or less interactive prime time TV anyway?

The third issue I'd like to address is the size. I know the game is called 'miniportraits' but my eyes are bad. Not horrible to the extent that I can't see what I'm typing but bad enough to the point where it's difficult to see the differences in this game. It would be nice to have the option to expand the dimensions of the game even just a little. Say 50% or so? That's just me and my eyes though. I don't expect you to change that for one person. Consider it a friendly request.

I don't think that a submission should be given a high score when the art it showcases wasn't made by the submitter. However, when taking in account that this game may have been made for the purpose of showing said art, then it deserves a few stars for that alone. After all, if it weren't for this game I would have never seen the stunning art of a talented person. With this in mind, even though this game doesn't stand out, especially among spot-the-difference games, I can give it an above average score. (This will probably only apply to this one instance because I really hate advertising. If future projects continue this brand of shameless advertising I won't be as generous with voting. Not that my vote matters but hey....)

Cheers!

Sorry for the ads. Didn't realise it was really annoying. I will cut down on the ads next time. I will also incorporate larger sized pictures in the future thanks to the original artist along with their adjusted time allocation for each portriats.

Thank you.

I don't know man

There is no music, that's a bummer. The pictures are really difficult to make out, perhaps if they were larger, or colored, or maybe cool? JK, but the changes made to each picture were so slight it was almost indistinguishable! And I had a hard time getting all of the 5 changes because I had like 12 seconds to do it! If this game is made for veterans of this genre, ignore my review... but if it's not... keep in mind we're all human up in this bitch!

spilocke responds:

I will adjust the time for the future release. Also it will incorporate bigger portriats thanks to the artist.

Thank you.

Awful.

The type of drawings used are hard to spot differences anyway, but then there's a tiny amount of time and no hints. There's also no audio of visual signal when you click to let you know if you've gotten it right or not.

This is an awful way to showcase these beautiful pictures.

spilocke responds:

I have seen sparks flying from where the user click when you gotten it right. I will try to incorporate that in the future releases.
Thank you.
