I found that when I make longer animations, they come out looking pretty bad since I lose interest halfway through, so I decided to put all my effort into a very short looping animation which I tried to make as close to the style of the Lion King as possible. I've always wanted to make an animation look like my actual drawings too :P

The character is Simba's son, Kopa, from the Lion King books, who was completely ignored by Disney when they made Lion King 2.

Lots of flaws here, I seem to have trouble keeping the lineart consistent in each frame, that's something I need to work on. Also, I kinda need more frames in this, but it's alright for now ;)

Drawn in Photoshop, frames put together in Flash.

First submission here :D

More to come!

Can be much better

This can be a lot better, I see A LOT of potential here. add some length, some time, some smoothness, and man, you can rival artists like Futuresquirrel.

Not sure who Futuresquirrel is, but I'm going to check it out now :P

Yeah, I'm really eagar to make more, longer animations now. Even though this is extremely short, I feel like I've learned quite a bit from it, so my next one will hopefully include voice and lip sync. I think I definately need to work with more frames for the smoothness- it'll take longer, but it'll be worth it, right?

Thanks so much for the comment! :D

Ah, they do actually have a black mouth outline in the films :P I thought it was kind of weird, but I wanted to stick to the style. I may have done it a little too thick come to think of it, it does look more like he has black lipstick :P
I'm hoping to do a voice/lip synced animation done next, I'll do it different then :P
