Our game jam theme was "Ladybugs knocking over deadly butchers". We chose the obvious thing to do with that theme, so there's no need to explain it here.
Press Q to change quality, F to toggle fullscreen, and the rest of the instructions are in-game.
PS: The "red beams" are neurons. Cause your in his brain and stuff
This game is soooooo awesome!!! It would have been "just another arcade shooter" if it wasn't for the ingenious formation system (a very good "just another arcade shooter" nonetheless).
This is the most boring game I've ever played. The pace is so long, tedious and boring. There's nothing exciting about this game. There's no levels, score, power-ups or anything. There's nothing that differentiates it from other games. It's just so lacking in anything. It doesn't even have a pause option. Come on, that has been standard in games since Atari. The only reason I played through the whole thing was to get the medals. Okay, it's a small game not meant to be anything amazing or make you want to play it constantly. But whatever your intent was for this game, it does not excuse how boring it is and its lack of features. There is no replay value at all and the experience is exactly the same every time you play it. A good game would want you coming back for more, and maybe even encourage you to try things differently. But this game has none of that and has NO challenge to it at all. The different formations are a good idea; it's creative and original, but sadly that's not enough to save this game. I'm aware I'll be down-voted into hell, but this is constructive criticism and praise is only expected from a quality game. As said, I commend you for the original formation idea, and the game runs smoothly and has no bugs or glitches, which I really do admire, but other than that, sorry, there's nothing else here.
"This is the most boring game I've ever played" yet "I played through the whole thing"
"There's nothing that differentiates it from other games." yet "The different formations are a good idea; it's creative and original"
"this is constructive criticism" yet your criticism is mostly just whining with nothing constructive about it.
anyway thanks for the review
The essence of an indie game, a crazy design n concept + intuitive controls. Good job =D
very good game the formation shift concept is awesome very original. the actual change could be made instant to make the shifts more useful. found myself not wanting to shift at some points because i knew i had to wait. other then that great game
Take that, brain!
I really enjoyed this game if only because I was so dang good at it! I even managed to get every single medal on the first run! It was great fun not knowing what was going to pop up next. I am impressed with myself as I managed to win it even when I had two red neurons create axis to go across from me! The problem was that I saw one on the lower left hand corner and thought it was going to be something from above, but it was not. The best part was how great the colors were.
Speaking of brains, it seemed like mine was on acid when this game came through for me! There was no telling what was going on or why anything was even happening. Thank you for making a great game for the third NG game jam. I should have realized they would make it soon after the NG movie jam. I don't even think the bosses (glands/lobes) are even able to fight back!
