I wrote this game while travelling in Europe and Central America, and created everything but the music myself. It's not your usual point and shoot zombie game; Rebuild is a thoughtful, wordy game that takes real strategy to win. You need to balance acquiring food, expanding your base, killing zombies and keeping your people happy. Gamers should start on Hard difficulty and expect to lose their first game (it's more fun that way).

First, for all those wondering how to get those million score points, don't be in a hurry to see how fast you can accomplish your 4 goals. It seems that around 200 turns with max food and max happiness is the optimum point to finish your game.
Second, the game seems designed to prevent you from conquering all city squares until you have obtained at least 1 objective. I actually found this to be a little irritating as you can spend 50 turns on 1 square with a lot of soldiers and never conquer it.
Third, outside of the drawback noted above, the game is quite an entertaining strategic game. It is one that can be played over and over again with differences each time. I also like the fact that it's not a real time game turn. Of course, as you get good at it, you need less time.
So that's it. I guess from here it's time for me to try your sequel. All the best.

Forget Nightmare...

This game is almost impossible for me to beat on Hard alone, even after having followed as many tips on what to do! If I spend time killing all the zeds around my area, the food and morale continue to deplete; if I try to reclaim areas, I get more zeds surrounding and eventually attacking me. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

That said, this game is incredibly fun. Credit to you for coming up with this rather refreshing concept on a zombie apocalypse.

A new take on zombie games

Its really something else. The system really wants you to balance things out, while at the same time doing everything else. Gonna play #2 now...

Great Game but...

Even on easy this game is EXTREMELY hard. After about 60 days soldiers just become too important to take off guard duty because you leave the risk of 30 or 40% danger (even if this against your odds, you can't do long term projects without people getting killed) and Zed keeps on coming in numbers of 200 and 300... and then they go and reoccupy the Bar that I risked life and limb to get.
This isn't a poke at the actual game because what I've just described should be exactly how it is... just not on Easy, more like Medium or Hard.
A part from that I love this game. What I've just described is what stops it from getting 10 and I would have given 9 but I feel that the difficulty is too big a reason.
Keep it up.
