I wrote this game while travelling in Europe and Central America, and created everything but the music myself. It's not your usual point and shoot zombie game; Rebuild is a thoughtful, wordy game that takes real strategy to win. You need to balance acquiring food, expanding your base, killing zombies and keeping your people happy. Gamers should start on Hard difficulty and expect to lose their first game (it's more fun that way).

This game was really fun, but it starts to drag in the later parts because management is not very streamlined. First of all, tabs would be helpful. When I wanted to select soldiers to accompany scavenging/recruiting/etc. it was a pain scrolling through the list when I had over a hundred guys (I ended with 198 and with the number of police stations/malls I didn't really need anyone on guard duty). So when I wanted to do large clearing operations (i.e. infested-overrun level areas) it was tiresome having to click so many times just to get enough guys to make sure the place was clear by the next round.

I think that it would be a great improvement if you can more easily assign jobs. Perhaps make it so that the selection screen is more like an "inventory" screen that fits 10+ guys at a time, and has pages instead of a scroll bar, with quick tabs to switch between soldiers, scientists, builders, leaders or untrained.

Additionally, it would be nice to have a building count so you have an idea of what you have. Or at least, something that tells you if you have any unused buildings instead of having to scour the map. The notification doesn't pop up frequently enough.

It would also be cool if survivors that do more jobs get better at it. It's kinda neat when you're picking people for missions and you think, "Oh hey, this guy's been here since the beginning." But that means little since they're the same in effectiveness as everyone else.

Overall though, excellent job! It was really fun even with the tedium of so much clicking towards the end.

P.S. Nightmare is nuts! It's bad enough that there are so many zombies, but there are a lot of negative events too!
