Upgrades Hard to see, movement is awkward, i suggest more room for the actual game screen too, and make the shop seperate

plasmacannon responds:

ok ok Working on this is a lot harder than I though...anyways I will see about making the screen larger. Doing this I shall remove the upgrade menu and turn it into a popup screen (I don't know about pausing movieclips). Also the rather large amount of money was there so could test seeing that I forgot to lower it was my bad. I cannot do anything about the enemy bullets hitting but I can fix your bullets hitting them (by dramatically lowering damage via: super weapon from 1000000 to 20( overkill XD) on the long run I would need a second coder due to the facts that I can't fix/code everything. Besides that I'm working on a second game I will see to it that this does get fixed for your enjoyment of my game (wow this is long) well thanks all

Needs work

You would have a passable game if there were more levels and if the player didn't start out with infinite money. Keep working on your skills and you'll do fine. You've done more work than most of the people on newgrounds.

Please redo this.

Where to start...
First, there are a lot of collision issues, in both directions. Sometimes your shots don't do anything to the enemy turrets, and vice versa.
Second, the HUD is rather unusual. In particular, is there any reason why the visible section of the field scrolls with you and then jumps when you approach the top? It's also rather hard to manage weapons and upgrades while fighting the enemy, and with such small font to boot.
This is a nice demo, and the other features/bugs (such as the extremely large amount of gold at the beginning) make this clear. But please fix the big bugs in this game. The players of your final product will greatly appreciate it.

NIce, but...

The fact that the enemy has 360 degrees of rotation to fire at you while you can do nothing but point forward and shoot leaves you at a massive disadvantage. If the enemy could move in the same fashion you do and only fire forward as well it'd level the playing field somewhat.

Also, the interface for the shop takes up more space than the area the game does, but the text is tiny and quite hard to read. Maybe redesign it so it is a little more legible.

Other than that, good effort, hopefully you can balance this out a bit more. Peace.

good idea, bad implamentation

Actually, I'm not sure about the idea, but it is a type of game that I would like to see more of on NewGrounds, but you need to make a user interface, the text is to small to read, yet you still managed to use half the screen on it, making everything else to small, the variety of enemies, or if you have more then one, the slow bullets, and inaccessible upgrade menu kept me from telling, the order in which they appear, the flashy ending further highlights the disparity between the two, I would scale it back a bit, which would also allow you to put more options in, and you also need a pause menu
Although I've given almost nothing but criticism so far, I think you can solve these issues with a few adjustments, and then the game would be great
