This was done for the Newgrounds Game Jam #2. We had 72 hours to make a game.
Taking the path less traveled (like really less traveled) our programmer, HiddenSpartan, did some funky stuff and that explains the game. This technically is a massive feat of programming because to create what we had here, HiddenSpartan created a level editor, a character editor and the whole engine from scratch to get us to what we have now. He added "quantum boxes" last minute for a little added fun.
Eh..

We'll eventually use this a jumping point to create a far more complex RPG game. Hopefully you enjoy.

You call that a game?

Although I haven't made a flash, I would figure making a small maze would be quite easy and requires nothing special.
For 72 hours I think more could have been done.
What's with the random blocks of ice that do nothing?

No idea how someone could rate this 10/10

If you were going for a dull/short low quality(quick) game, than I guess I could rate this higher but it's hard to say anything good about this other than that it works (start and finish).

I really don't know why I'd even bother making a review, would any review matter? Obviously everything has to be improved.

HiddenSpartan responds:

First up, it wasn't made in Flash, if it was, then something better could of been done better. The random blocks of ice were a last minute addition, they were just to give interactivity to the maze.
As for taking the time to review, I greatly appreciate it :D

I see.

I understand what you are trying to do, or at least I think I do.

If I got it right, then I am sure your more complex RPG game will be awesome. I will be waiting.

Good luck.

HiddenSpartan responds:

Thanks for your support, though a 10 might be a bit over-kill.

72 hours.

Considering the restriction of time placed upon you the game is decent, I understand that is is actually fairly difficult to do even this in 72 hours. But after looking over and playing your competitors game, I must say, a better job could have been done. 4 out of ten for the effort.

A better job could of been done, all we can do is learn from our mistakes and make a better game next time. Thanks for the review.

Seriously needed more focus on the objective

The project you were given was to make a game in 72 hours. Developing a Level Editor and a Character editor is cool, and, as the Author comments make apparent, work well to produce an RPG in the future. BUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOUR JOB WAS.

Your game is not really a game. Grats on having some cool dev tools, but that was not your assignment.
