not bad

I was reading the controls while loading and thinking he wants me to use wasd, space, enter and mouse? Well luckily you seem to be able to pass the levels without ever touching the Enter key, so it works out.

I like the gameplay but this game seems a bit unfinished. Firstly, why no skip-button on the long intro? Maybe I got a short attention span but I was ready to quit the game right there. There's like two things every game needs to have, the mute-button and the skip-button for the boring parts. Well at least you got the mute-button.

Then the graphics. I jumped down on level 7 wanting to hit the moving platform just to land on some static block that I didn't even notice that was there. I mean darkgreen 'ground' on slightly less darkgreen background? Not a good choice. The graphics overall just don't look good. The red bubbles when you die made me think that you just wanted this game released asap.

I like the music (although it's kinda corny too) but the sound effects are not that great. The bouncing sound is so overused and imo doesn't fit in this games context. I even used it for my first game years ago but it was at least a better fit as you actually bounced on stuff :P. Could have used some better and more original sound effects.

Overall I like the gameplay, but getting a good artist to do the graphics and spending more time polishing the game would have payed off greatly.

Urkel responds:

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I agree with you at some points, but I have to say that the artist has made a really extraordinary effort to make the game really awesome, maybe there is rarely a platform that doesn't contrast too well with the background, but it's never a big problem to see it. The graphics are awesome and I'm really proud of the collaboration with Marc Garcia.

From my part the gameplay is what it is, challenging and original, and I'm really thankful that at least some individuals had recognized it. But I've to assume that it may be hard for some people who are not used to this controls, sometimes I wonder if I have been the only one who has played FPS or emulators like NeoGeo.

Its ok...

Nice concept, majority of it well executed, but you need three hands to move the character, rewind time then switch to the mouse to freeze a specific thing. Gore effects when you died were a little poor compared to the rest of the graphics. Character took way too long to warp into level EVERY level. Music was...generic.
But! I do rather look forwards to a sequel, this was a well thought out game with only a few cosmetic and clipping issues. Good stuff.
