This was my big studio project for my 2D short film class. It's been a long time since I made an SRM cartoon; close to a year now! I've come a long way since I first started doing traditional, frame by frame animation, and I think this cartoon is testament to that. I'm really happy I moved past the old symbol-based puppetry of the past to get nice looking animation like this.

I've been posting week by week progress on this toon on Youtube, so if you want to see the process behind my cartoons you can check those out.

Anyway, I think this is my best cartoon to date. Everything came out exactly how I wanted it to be. The music is by Kevin McLeod - he does royalty free music that can be used anywhere.

Enjoy!

haha

Been awhile since i seen one of your animations and it really shows, since you've changed your art style up a bit, like always i love your voices you use for them and the club part especially made me laugh

Battosai810 responds:

Hey, glad you enjoyed it! Good to know you like the new art style, and I'm happy the cartoon made you laugh.

looking great!

I remember watching your last SRM toon way back and saying that the animation looks weird, and I've got to say irs come a while and it looks amazing!
the humor is funny, I quite enjoyed that
as I said before the animation is great,
overall the flash was great and I say is very deserving of this 10

PS: I've beem keeping track with the animatics, I appreciate that you released the animaics, cool to look at and see how such flashes are made

Battosai810 responds:

I went back and watched the last SRM toon I did in this style and I agree it looks weird - think of it as the awkward puberty of this new art style! Glad you enjoyed the cartoon, and thanks for watching the animatics. A lot of people really missed the point and complained about me submitting them every week, but it's good to know some folks get it!

hmmm...

I didn't like it at all. It wasn't funny at all for me because you could tell what was going to happen(also even if I didn't knew what would happen, I still would thind it funny). I was waiting for something original believing that you would knew we would think of a ending like that and surprise us. Also I'd like to ask you for what reason did you change your art style like that? I think you said that you were using a different program for other reason that I can't remember. At least like that you can make expressions on there faces which makes them more alive.

Battosai810 responds:

Why did you give this a zero? I think the last time you gave anything of mine more than a three was as many years ago.

I changed my art style because I'm a fucking artist. It's what artists do. Also the old style is primitive, ugly, boring, wooden, flat, dull, and uninteresting. Notice how nothing on television or in film looks like that aside from shitty Nick Jr. shows and some of the lower budget Adult Swim stuff?

I'm still using Flash, which not many people realize can actually be used for decent animation. Why you're in here giving this a zero is beyond me, since to me a zero represents a complete lack of effort, talent, or humor. From your misspelled writing you said you'd find it funny if you didn't know what was going to happen, so I'm really curious what gives.
