One Chance is a game about choices and dealing with them.

Scientist John Pilgrim and his team have accidently created a pathogen that is killing all living cells on Earth.

In the last 6 remaining in-game days on Earth, the player must make choices about how to spend his last moments. Will he spend time with his family, work on a cure or go nuts?

The game has 4 Endings, you can't save everyone but that's why it's a decision based game, so you're bound to carry with the consequences of your choices, anyways, for those curious, the endings are:

- Your wife commits suicide in the bathroom at day 4th if you choose to go to work, if you go to work the two following days you'll find a cure, this cure will pressumably save you, your daughter and the rest of human population that was still alive. [This was the first ending i got personally]

- If you cheat on your wife on day 4th, she'll take your daughter and left you the following day, no matter what you do from here you'll still die.

- If you spend the 4th day with your family the following day the guy that was smoking a cigarrette the first day will try to stab you, if he succeds you'll die and the game ends, if you press space when he gets close you'll take knife from him and he'll run out of the office, then when you get back home both your daughter and wife will be dead and the guy mentioned before will had hang himself in your room, from here no matters what you do you'll still die.

You can choose to die in the lab trying to find the cure, jump out the roof and commit suicide or accepting your fate and calmly going out while sitting in the park.

If any of you wants to restart the game to try out these endings, you can right click on the game, press settings to go to the flash plugin configuration, then press the folder button and moving the slider all the way to the left until it says "none", but beware that is cheating the game and that means that your choices don't got any impact then.

I registered just to write this review!

No word of a lie, but after playing the game a few days ago, it's still on my mind and I just had to leave the author with my thoughts.

I can't think of a videogame that has made me think and reflect on myself and my life as this one. I don't want to sound comically melodramatic, but as a father of a 3 year-old daughter I know all too well how much your decisions impact the lives of those around you, especially those in your family who depend on you for their happiness as well as their health and welfare.

I'm not totally sure how the game ended for me. My daughter either survived or died on the last day while I was working in the lab. I had her with me on the park bench at the end, so I think she was okay, but the doubt remains in my mind. BTW: taking her to work while the world around us was dead or dying was incredibly heart-wrenching.

Either way, an incredible experience and one I'm not likely to remember. I agree with the author. No replay.
