One Chance is a game about choices and dealing with them.
Scientist John Pilgrim and his team have accidently created a pathogen that is killing all living cells on Earth.
In the last 6 remaining in-game days on Earth, the player must make choices about how to spend his last moments. Will he spend time with his family, work on a cure or go nuts?
just so you know, i registered an account here because of how strongly this game made me feel.
this little game, while simple and short, really puts the fragility of our human existance into perspective. we play god with everything that we can, because we can. but im not here to pass any judgement on that.
when it boils down to what each person would do if they had one chance, it reveals our true nature to ourselves. or something like that.
i wanted to be with my family. so bad.
but i knew that my responsibility as a scientist was to help find the solution to the problem, regardless of my part in its creation.
my responsibilty to the human race, and to myself as a part of the human race, was to find the cure. i felt that i owed it to my family to try and save them, if only them. any father could agree... (im not a father, but i can figure out the roleplay).
when i saw my wife in the tub.. blood everywhere.. i broke.
but keeping a strong will is what i needed to do. i still had a job to complete. for whatever was left of the human race.. and for my daughter.
she helped me get through this. she helped save both of us.
as we sit alone in this park, staring at nothing, i realise the scope of what one man is capable of.. and how dangerous we really are in this tiny existance.
so yeah. good game. very evokative. music was appropriate. the simple grapihcs was a good idea; it put the focus on the gameplay rather than the game itself. the lack of choices was what made the few choices we had count. the game wasnt designed to confuse, but rather focus on what we really wanted.
Only thing I could say would be more things to interact with. I wanted to stay at home with my family but couldn't interact with them. Also the wife says that the phone has been ringing all morning but there is no phone to interact with. Other than that it wasn't too shabby
This was... sinisterly brilliant. Emotionally crushing. Possibly more potent than any other game I've played before.
The lack of replay was a bold choice on your part, and finding myself dead and alone in the laboratory was a slightly horrific conclusion that I saw coming from a mile off. It truly is ONE CHANCE, and I fully support it- even though I really want to see if another outcome would even be possible.
there is a chance to find the cure, you obviousley played the game wrong,
and as many other people of said .. what would you do in that situation, i think you sir , are a boob and as for awkward silence... i want your shit stuck between my teeth
NOOOO REPLAY!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYY

There is no game. Trust me. DO NOT PLAY!
