One Chance is a game about choices and dealing with them.

Scientist John Pilgrim and his team have accidently created a pathogen that is killing all living cells on Earth.

In the last 6 remaining in-game days on Earth, the player must make choices about how to spend his last moments. Will he spend time with his family, work on a cure or go nuts?

there is a chance to find the cure, you obviousley played the game wrong,
and as many other people of said .. what would you do in that situation, i think you sir , are a boob and as for awkward silence... i want your shit stuck between my teeth

HMMM

I wonder how many endings there are?
I worked, worked, and more work, and the wife killed herself, but I managed to save myself and the kid, and we relaxed in the park. What about everyone else, who knows?

Not finding what others are...

At a glance, this game looked pretty impressive. Sure, why not, a choose your own path game that ends in either failure or success.

Kay... where is the success? This game doesn't work, as every single path leads you down to death and morbidity. And that's not impressive at all, that's new stations in a flash game. There was really no meaning and no method here, you spend time with your family and you're depressed when you all die and because there might have been a cure. You spend time at work and you're depressed because you fail and your family dies without spending time with them. You spend time "going nuts" and everything goes to shit.

There was another flash game on this site in the art section that did this as well, where every turn was morbid and you could literally do nothing right. But that game was more conceptual. This game... was not only extremely unrealistic (A relatively new cure for any disease being distributed to the entire world via gas? Come on man, at least learn basic drug testing regulations before that becomes your plot), but was supposed to encourage guilt and pro-activity, as well as a sense of longing and regret at your failures. But rather than being realistic, even with the plot being astronomical, it's not as open as you'd hope.

Your path is very guided, I couldn't work every day even if I wanted to, and you're left with a set amount of paths you can take. Every single one is sad. What I love most is that people are finding meaning in design flaws. Like one review said, your daughter gets killed in the park yet in the first frame of your next lab scene, she's on your back but disappears if you do anything. That's, from what I've seen in other reviews, a coding error. It's like the south park episode, the poop that took a pee, every reader was trying to find meaning where there wasn't any. Maybe this game gets more enjoyable the more you over think it.

But rather, more meaningful. There was no enjoyment here, and little entertainment value. You walked slowly, everyone died, you died. There's the end of the story. Even spending every waking second at the lab, where you'd expect to find a cure, you couldn't possibly do so. There was really only one ending, failure. So by circular logica, if you pay this game, you are a failure. NOW, I don't actually believe that, but if you're destined to fail this game from the start, no matter what option you take, it ends in disappointment. Perhaps people are just trying to find meaning in their disappointments, but I can't. That's just morbid and lacks worth in my opinion.

So, 5/10.
-2 because I think you missed the meaning to me, but not -4 because you clearly got it to others
-1 because of coding failures and discontinuities.
-2 because of walking speed, and because no matter what you do, the ending is virtually the same. Failure.
