I prefer not to say too much about the game, as discovering the details for yourself is part of the experience. My personal thoughts about the game and its history are in the afterword, but interpreting its meaning is up to you. Everything in the game is there for a reason.

The Infinite Ocean is a Myst-style point & click adventure game. It's fairly big for a flash game, and has a lot of story, so to enjoy it you need to take your time.

You interact with the environment by left-clicking.
To turn left or right, move your mouse to the edge of the room and click on the arrow that appears.
The main menu appears at the top of the screen when you move your mouse there.
For more detailed information, read the Instructions/Help screen in the game. (Highly recommended!)

Awesome, amazing, epic, beautiful. I don't hace adjectives to describe what I feel. The ambient, filled with gray, the mlenacholic and deep music, the story... this is a game to remember. Well done.

A tribute

When wandering about the henceforth empty lab and slowly comprehending the events that took place within it, a feeling of endless melancholy crept up on me. In spite of a tendency of mine to explain things purely with science and facts, I can retrace the discussions of SGDS and Jerry (who strikingly reminds me of Elijah Bailey); possibly SGDS will come to comprehend things beyond and above the subjects of his thoughts in the lab once the artificial sentience has broken out.
I, too, grew up devouring Asimov's brilliant works and it makes me unbelievably happy to see someone dedicating such an enormous piece of mindwork to him. Kyratzes' other creations touch similar realms, always carrying far more inspiration than your average flashgame.

That really was amazing, I loved the presentation and the puzzles, while not overly difficult, were all interesting. And to Moschinius, obviously you didn't like the story if you didn't read the files - At least put some effort in before you say something's crap, because I loved it, read every file I discovered and found the story to be amazing.

Great work on this game, 5/5, 10/10

A waste of time

This game doesn't come close to the Submachine series.
The graphics are bland, the music is quite annoying. In the very beginning I thought the story seemed interesting, but then there was just far too much to read and none of it was interesting. Just another "crazy scientists creating ai" saga where the player wakes up with amnesia, there are cryptic messages everywhere telling you to stop and it ends without explanation. There was also a lot and I meant a LOT of reading with relatively little puzzling or finding things which is what the genre is all about. After a while I was just skipping through all the text and I'm guessing most people were. The only good part about this game is the password matching which is something I've never seen before.
All in all this isn't mystical, didn't have any original points to make, it's poorly presented and doesn't make me want to play it ever again.

The epitome of brilliant.

*Spoiler Alert for those who don't want to hear what I thought the story was*

Brilliant. Absolute brilliance. The AI the scientists fought for. That the military imprisoned. The war machine that chose to be a philosopher, and escaped the prison. (If I missed anything, feel free to let me know.)

I've just gotta say it was a bit confusing at first, and actually I thought I was Jeremy, and later realized I was supposed to be the SGDS. The pattern thing was weird at first, and when I saw the hint thing mixing a password I realized what I needed to do there, and could move on.

But man....this was a good game. This is one of the games that honestly without joking really do earn an 11/10. I might play it again just to read more of the text things (I started to skip them around half way in) and the music made it a bit creepy....but wow. Just.....mind boggling at first, mind blowing at the end.

The walls were creepy, the music was creepy, but the drive to figure out what was going on led me to the end. And man.....that's just utter brilliance. I know I've said it several times but it just blows my mind how good it is, and it's not totally shocking that it was well reviewed when you didn't even think it was quite finished.

I can't even express all of the thoughts I have about this, and how wonderful and above the world brilliant it is, and what all could happen because of it's awesomeness. The game itself is a weapon, of thought. I want to say more about it but the right words just won't come to mind. I loved the game and and mentally wounded (in a good way, I think) from the sheer amount of mind-blowing brilliance.
