I prefer not to say too much about the game, as discovering the details for yourself is part of the experience. My personal thoughts about the game and its history are in the afterword, but interpreting its meaning is up to you. Everything in the game is there for a reason.

Description:
The Infinite Ocean is a Myst-style point & click adventure game. It's fairly big for a flash game, and has a lot of story, so to enjoy it you need to take your time.

Instructions:
You interact with the environment by left-clicking.
To turn left or right, move your mouse to the edge of the room and click on the arrow that appears.
The main menu appears at the top of the screen when you move your mouse there.
For more detailed information, read the Instructions/Help screen in the game. (Highly recommended!)

To hell with speechless... I'm speech-full!

I can rant and rave however long I want to (And I will) but in my opinion I'll never deliver the same feeling as I would is I said this bluntly. This game, at least for me, is perfect. You did one thing that most other games I play do not. You immersed me in a story, well crafted and far above par to what some games of today have. Everything else just fell into place for me. From my natural stubbornness I wondered around the halls not thinking "what's the next puzzle?" but wondering "What happened?" and "How do I get to earth?" A fish out of water feeling that even as I drift to sleep and write this review hasn't left me. Every detail counted, every piece had a reason to exist. The data pads were a window into the minds of people. It was believable, their excitement bled into the electronic pages, their thoughts marked the screen in characters, and their opinions colored their words in ways unseen. The being's (Not sure what to call it) birth was an spectacular journey to read and when it came to the final decision whether or not to hit "deactivate" I really thought about my safety and came to my own decision. I do not know what became of the character and the being but I feel that's the hidden beauty. To have our minds contemplate the infinite possibilities. The being (and by logic, you) was right. We do not use imagination as we should. I'm sorry for the ranting and raving but I felt that this game deserved the praise more-so than any others I've played.

WOW!

You managed to cross GLaDOS with Socrates. That is pure incredibationality. It is so magnifenomiacal that I had to invent three words just to descriptionate it. I make jokes, but I mean every word. If it were't for the annoying password hunting, I would give this a 10. As is, it gets a 9.5. Congratulations on making a truly deep game!

Amazing, but a bit tedious

The atmosphere of this game is really amazing, and the story too. It had me playing for a long time although its the middle of the night and im really tired. However, finding all the password fragments is a bit unnessecarily tedious: It takes a lot of time, isnt really interesting and those who enjoy the game will read all log entries anyway. Actually I didnt quite finish the game, after seeing in the walkthrough how much fragments i need to find. I really regret this because i would have loved to experience the rest of the game. Maybe its just that i´m not patient enough for point-and-click-games, but those really long and pointless "finding the clue" parts are a real dealbreaker for me. Still, 4/5 and 8/10 for the story and feeling.

Snobbish game

There's difference between artistic game and snobbish game.
Disproportionately exaggerate the lyrical side, with the music, text, graphisms, etc, not enough to make a game interresting .
And it does not have to hide the complete lack of originality of the idea.
