Author Comments

Endeavor is a game about a dwarf trying to uncover an ancient secret. Or maybe it's about exploring, climbing, and swimming. Or perhaps it's about collecting powerups and treasure. Or possibly it's just about killing things.

With multiple endings, quests, interactive npcs and ambient critters, it's my most involving game yet! It features many original musical tracks, several upgrades, and an engaging climbing and endurance scheme.

Note: Once you've reached an ending, you won't be able to get a different ending without restarting the game. Don't worry, getting the other endings is much faster when you know where everything is!

Update: Some people are getting lag whenever they touch a flower- this is due to an auto-save feature that I've decided to remove (note that the game still autosaves whenever you collect a powerup or switch screens, just not on touching flowers anymore). I've submitted the latest version which should get approved soon, so bear with me! Thanks for playing!

Update 12/2: There seems to be a bug with running out of endurance underwater and getting trapped in air bubbles. I'm working on fixing it! If this happens, press Q to return to the main menu, and then reload your save file.

Update 12/3: Patched to fix the underwater bug, pressing escape now pauses AND unpauses. Added tip menu screen to press p to see collections. Also added an additional creature on the island above the light beam. Hopefully the update goes live soon!

Update 12/11: Added a link to a full map of the game, see above!

Amazing!

Ok, so thought at first glance I thought I wasn't going to enjoy this game as it kinda felt like those old Duke Nukem days before it became a 3d game. Although I enjoyed Duke Nukem thoroughly, the repetitive levels did get kind of tedious and also getting lost in those huge levels bouncing around walls and platforms (yawn). I really thought it was going to be like that, but to my surprise the story caught me and the scenery was actually really different with a great flow through the world. It had great evolving puzzles that led me deeper into the story. I was blown away by its simplistic charm and navigation. Loved the different items as they were used to their full effect. Nothing lacked meaning or was underdeveloped.

Well done!

Keep making more games like this.

Love your work

Utterly Wonderful

This game, alot more of this type of thing is needed. An epic journey with genuinely FUN platforming and gameplay which just works perfectly.
Multiple endings in conjunction with a story which, while some may call it "predictable" or "simplistic", hit me in just the right way, in the end the ability to make a choice between one path or another just felt so RIGHT to me.
The characters were wonderful, I wanted to understand more about who they each were along with their backgrounds.
Thirdly, the graphics, while simple, were perfect for this kind of story, the tiny size of your character really addded a sense of the epic to your adventure.

To summarise, I adored it, what I want is MORE games set in this universe, in this style. I love it 10/10 5/5

A Beautiful thing, really

I am aware that it is, fairly simpler to create pixelated games, but it is easy to tell that you have worked incredibly hard on creating this masterpiece.

For such a basic game, its bounds know no limits, this is easily one of the biggest games, considering time taken and space provided, that I have ever seen. Having such a small character, makes everything feel, significant, and of course large too.

The story fit nicely to such a game as well, I find myself stumbling around games where the authors simply babble on with philosophic quotes, but you knew clearly about what kind of story you were trying to create, and it was obviously popular to everyone else, as well as myself.

I played for a long while, immersed into the game quite well, you did a fantastic job at keeping the player (me) interested, as well as giving ways to keep playing, with your fascinating alternate endings, of which I will not spoil to others.

Simple in essence, but deep in meaning, it's hard to find a game much like this one anymore, I hope you make more Zillix, keep at it.

Excellent work.

Wacky

The game everall seems pretty decent. I liked thepace of the game,. At first I thought the tiny guy would be a hindrance to my fun, but that proved untrue. I like the multiple endings, and how well balanced the game is as far as freedom and difficulty, as well as entertainment. Great Job!
