Excellently orchestrated! The evolution factor is the most interesting point, and I like it. That point alone definitely makes it worth continuing into a sequel. The Hives idea also added a semi-unique twist, much like a form of capturing command points. The difficulty of certain maps also adds an aspect for the hardcore players.
My only real point of flaw for the game is that it's pretty short, and finishing singleplayer mode leaves you wanting more.
I like this one. Very addictive. Will there be more?
Its a very good concept but I think it needs a lot more work. The way the game works makes it a hassle to evolve your bots down any particular path and I just ended up not bothering as you can out reproduce pretty much anything you come across. I'd suggest maybe making the evolution only occur between levels or pause the game while you choose a bot to evolve.
Its a good concept but I found it quite tedious to play. very slow moving, which doesnt normally bother me but there wasnt really much thinking to be done. The idea of choosing favourable traits and replicating them and slowly having them evolve is really good but its ruined by being able to walk over a 'mutator' and ruin all the hard work youve done pushing them in that direction. also, in the big battles you dont have a chance of keeping your eyes on one with whichever trait youre trying to favour and it ends up just clicking randomly.
So, yeah, good concept but could be better done.
(also, animations are awesome)
I love the evolving method of upgrading, and the mutators give a good balance to one's forces; all I really have a problem with is the lives system (seems unnecessary) and that I wish the swarm didn't...swarm (re: clip over each other) so much--makes it painstaking to select or reproduce just the one you want.
being able to zoom in and out could be cool; I know most people won't have a problem with the scrolling, but I did...
Best strategy game I ever played!
This is one of the best strategy games I've ever played! Good work!
But also, I'd really wish for a "Player's Customized Buzz-Bot" in the next sequel, if you'd ever make 1.
