Puzzling War is an interesting mix between match-3 puzzle game with simple war strategy theme.

Play as a tactician to conquer a forgotten kingdom far in the north continent. There are 15 levels available, each with unique environment, enemy & AI difficulty.

By upgrading, player will be able to dispatch more powerful unit. You can also dispatch higher level unit without upgrading by matching more than 3 unit block.

Player can also buy several power up item to help him in the next battle. He can use the item by matching it's block in the middle of the battle. Just remember though that the more block type exist in the game board, the harder it is to make a match.

There are also Highscore & Achievement feature for those who seek additional challenge in this game.

Enjoy!

Decent

I like it, I thought the graphics were ok the combat animation could stand some improvements. My complaint is that it's too much puzzle and not enough strategy, you have all these different classes but it doesn't matter because the player is going to send out the first match he sees anyway, the classes are also all the same some are just more powerfull versions of the other, not really too many pros or cons of sending one class out before another. That said still not bad for a flash game.

Graphics :(

while fun, I found the graphics to get in the way of the gameplay. there's too much grey on too many characters. when you start scanning the board many of the pieces look the same.

Also, there's no real point in getting big combos. perhaps activating a special attack when 4 or 5 are matched would have helped improve gameplay.

upgrades are okay. maybe allowing individual stats to be improved could help add strategy to the game.

Also the game just feels short.

fix/improve these things and you could have a good addition to the bejeweled style game.

The game is fun in the short term....

The game is a challenging and it does cause you to think, and yet there are flaws still in the game. I know the graphics are 8-bit looking, but after a while it starts to hurt the eyes and matching the characters becomes harder (the hair color helped a bit, but then you start to go color blind from scanning over the grid while looking for matches.) As for the difficulty, the only thing that seems to matter is that once you start a match you have to keep steam rolling the enemy till you win, any moment of pause causes the AI to somehow slingshot back into the fight as if they were just holding back the army till you got eye-strain.

The only advice I can give is for people to spend the gold you get on upgrading your units and avoid the shop. All it does is add more blocks to your side and while they may seem helpful it starts to get annoying when you make a few matches only to be stunned for 3-4 seconds because you can't match anything.
