If the controls don't work at all, please click on the game screen first. An update that fixes this issue is on its way, but it needs to be approved by NG first.
Other than that - the arrow keys need to be held down. Once you get older, your avatar moves slower and the keys need to be held down for a little longer to make him move.
Button tapping pointless, keeping button pressed super effective.
I hope this clears some things up, I guess it wasn't as intuitive as I thought (sorry about that, i guess).

Great, but...
Not.
The slow walking, even though the game tests twitch reflexes, is unbearably bad. Fix the controls. Now.

Mediocre Game
Its a pretty crap game, you just tried to make it deep and philosophical so all the phony hipsters will rate it up.
