If the controls don't work at all, please click on the game screen first. An update that fixes this issue is on its way, but it needs to be approved by NG first.
Other than that - the arrow keys need to be held down. Once you get older, your avatar moves slower and the keys need to be held down for a little longer to make him move.
Button tapping pointless, keeping button pressed super effective.
I hope this clears some things up, I guess it wasn't as intuitive as I thought (sorry about that, i guess).

Fun and fast paced game
~~REVIEW~~
ok so fun game here and for 60 seconds, the {SCREEN} is somewhat small but i guess thats the idea, its still a pretty fun game and i guess thats the idea with the small screen to make it harder and such, so as for making improvments and having a better outcome, you could possibly add another version with more time maybe 120 seconds? just an idea though, anyways great game i had lots of fun with it, and i look forward to more fun stuff like this, also like the {MEDALS} anyways nice work again.

so i suggested some other versions, even a larger screen.

WHAT!
I used like, 10 min. to get 14 combos so i could get the medal, but i diddent get it.
I says that i have got iside the game?
But it's a very good game, grafics are just crap:)

Amazing!
"Love played an important part in your life. You would walk 500 miles and you would walk 500 more. Money was always a bit of a problem. But you got by fairly well. You had a handful of close friends and took care of these relationships. You were aware of the importance of your family. Your hobbies were a great way to relieve from your everyday life. You spent solid time on them, but not too much."
