If the controls don't work at all, please click on the game screen first. An update that fixes this issue is on its way, but it needs to be approved by NG first.
Other than that - the arrow keys need to be held down. Once you get older, your avatar moves slower and the keys need to be held down for a little longer to make him move.
Button tapping pointless, keeping button pressed super effective.
I hope this clears some things up, I guess it wasn't as intuitive as I thought (sorry about that, i guess).

cold-reading.
Some people said that this game opened their eyes on life, or that they unconsciously did actions that reminded them of their own life.
Well, bad news, if you feel that the end-game description correspond to your actual life, then you actually are falling to the trap of "cold-reading", that uses the ability of human mind to make sense in a description that otherwise is very general. The mind "locks" on the corresponding characteristics of the description, while putting apart the parts that don't add up.
Still, an fun game for 60 seconds, but i still believe there is more in life than "love", "friends", "financial succes" and "games".

Interesting Game
This is one of the best concepts on the entire newgrounds site. It is pretty cute and quick as it is and the idea just makes me think of making of a proper life simulation rpg style game. It was a very simple game that you made enjoyable based on the story you coined up for it. Very creative and well done. 9/10
