Echoes is an action-strategy game. It's set in an extensive universe on a torn Earth almost three-hundred years in the future. It joins the famous real-time strategy genre with many elements from the third person shooter genre, in a side-scrolling environment.
Please note this game is loaded with action, and may load on your cpu. If you have any slow frame rates try to lower the graphic settings. Also note Echoes is a heavy story-teller, with scenes and dialogues. If you're in only for the action, there's always a skip button in the corner.

Combat mode:
- Mouse - aim, shoot
- W,A,S,D - movement
- Shift - sprint
- Q - command, drag for select units
- E - action circle
- 1-6 - activate abilities
- Z,X,C,V,B - select weapon
- Space - switch to Strategy mode
P, ESC - Pause game
Strategy mode:
- W,A,S,D - camera movement
- Shift - faster camera movement
- Mouse drag - select units
- Mouse click - order units to move
- Ctrl + Mouse click - order units to attack-move
- Hold shift while selecting units to select additional units.
- Space - switch to Combat mode.
- Ctrl + 1-5 to group a few units together.
P, ESC - Pause game

meh
i can understand some of notahero's list, like the controls and some of the glitch stuff, like the strategy mode being a little frustrating, and the double jump. and i also understand his frustration with the original gun, but the gameplay was still good. The story line was less like a flash and more like an in depth game that one would expect on a major gamesystem. though giving us a chance to earn a better gun sooner would have been much appreciated lol

Frustrating!
The story is ok
The plot is stupid
Voice acting is ok
Script is not, too much dragging, not much of importance.
Controls are awkward
-sprinting is slow
- jumping forward can be triggered without tabbing the button twice.
-Sometimes, Dem runs the wrong way (not likely to be a lag)
-After being knock back (fighting with Diabolus) the weapon changed
-Controlling your soldiers should've been easier (hotkeys perhaps?)
Gun is so extremely useless (knife is more powerful & I beat the game with it)
Can't zoom out in combat mode
Diabolus is sometimes invincible
Your friends can't die, but you can. So I never feel anything for them. Hell, I let them do all the work.
A pause button, or a time stop during strategy mode for an easier management
When Dem is dead, stop pulling the camera back to him in strategic mode, it's already frustrating enough when you can't give any commands in strategy mode but moving.

These things better be fixed in Echoes 2
