This is a kinetic typography project I did for as a project for my major this year. I felt that this song was very expressive, and thus served as a good candidate to be set in kinetic typography. Let me know what you think!

(Note: I haven't added a replay button, or stop at the end because I haven't figured AS3 out yet. sorry!)

I appreciate your honesty, but I'd prefer some more constructive criticism on how I could make it better.

Needs improvement

The fact that this was a project for anything other than an Intro to PowerPoint class is sad. Even if it was, this is not acceptable, I can barely keep up with the animations because the font size is so large. Not to mention the fact that the font style does not reflect the song at all except for the use of the Asian font for the one foreign sounding line. Seriously, I didn't even see the word Down it was off the screen so fast. There were also many contradicting animations such as "tranquil" jumping into the screen and "center" not being at the center of anything. Obviously, I believe you should watch some film credits just to get some ideas as to what you should do if you hope to become successful at this activity. Sorry, this may be too mean and get me banned but you really need to know that this is not acceptable in the real world.

how nice of you to create an account solely to rip apart a student's work.
That said, I do appreciate critique, and I will be the first to admit that as far as kinetic typography goes, this is pretty low on the scale. Pieces like the scene from pulp fiction, Dot Dot Dot, and of course the absolutely incredible ShopVac are among the best. Despite that, I am proud of my work, and stand by it. Yes it could be drastically better, but the only way to improve in anything, from animation to common courtesy and everything in between is to practice.

dude, i really cant break this gently

that was honestly not very good.
you used maybe three changes, and ONE font the entire time.
i may as well just printed out the lyrics and thrown the pages past a camera.
Next time use some different transitions, some different fonts, and maybe a color change once in a while.

sorry for the low score but this is just not good at all

Next time I'll try typesetting the lyrics in the press room, and shooting it with my HD camera, and we'll see if it fares any better.
