In early July this year, My Escape's team was joined by professional designer and animator Dave Rigley. During the team's typical meetings in virtual offices, this over-excited Canadian artist revealed that his heart was fixated on starting a zoo in Antartica. With disastrous consequences that later ensued, the team now calls for help to save the poor frozen animals by stacking them on a boat and shipping them safely home. Critter Cubes is addictive and fun when one starts to stack the cubes as high as is single-handedly possible without toppling over. With the game's objective, art, and nature, Critter Cubes keeps consistent with the group's interest in making peculiar and strange, yet giggle-worthy games.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes, the game is challenging and it banks on player patience and strategy. Part of the fun is setting up your tower and watching it sway, not knowing if it's going to tip or not. Thanks for playing!

Not bad

Well, I see what you were going for with this, and I think you put it together pretty well. Although I can't get a gold medal, it's a decent game. There are a few aspects I wish were different, but I suppose your reply would be that it's supposed to be challenging. The graphics look good, and the game engine seems to replicate real life physics pretty well. Maybe a little too well ;)

The background music was appropriate and not annoying, and the sound effects were all good and didn't seem out of place. You included a mute button, reset button, return to menu button, as well as some interesting statistics about your gameplay.

I don't suppose you can really ask for much more in a stacking game. It's not overly addicting and entertaining, but I still sat here for quite a while trying to get a gold medal, and I swear it's next to impossible, lol. Good work overall. The only thing I can see you would be missing is maybe some Newgrounds medals and a high score board...of course, you would have to implement a sort of scoring system, but I think with those two additions the game would really feel 100% complete to me.

Nonetheless, great game, keep up the good work.

SeeD - fantastic review. Very thorough, well thought out and you gave us some things to think about. It definitely is a game of patience and careful strategy, so I understand the challenge in getting that gold medal :) The designer's son was able to get as high as 70 meters, and he's 12 years old. My older coordination just can't keep up :)

Thanks for playing and for your great response!
