Deadest Of Zombie Genre.

So far that I've even seen the best of the best. Though I do wish that you'd found a different way to defeat the Helicopter rather than the signs.

It's hard as hell to get them to smash into em. I got lucky getting them to hit into them even once.

Other than this is the best............yet.

You've just taken a genre that was getting boring and repetitive and brought it back to life :D

Great game, although it got a little samey towards the end, the radio chatter, carpet bombings and ATG missiles kept it interesting enough to want to finish it. Also the extra modes, although essentially the same, provided enough difference to make you want to at least give them 1-2 tries.

If I was to offer critiscisms, the radio chatter later on gets a little mixed up, sentences get interrupted so that I can hear the helicopter pilot say "I'm bugging out!" Might be an idea to have some chatter be prioritsed over others, once you've heard the heli defeted radio chatter once, I don't want to have it interrupt the new chatter I haven't yet heard. I noticed that some sentences didn't get cut out and some did, might be worth checking back and seeing if you didn't prioritise all the new/important chatter.

Also I found that the upgrades where nessecary at the start, to the point where you had to reply a stage several times to get enough points to the upgrades to get through.
Might wanna rework the upgrades, make it so that its a bit more balanced, so theres less redoing a stage and more killing.

The civilian AI was a little stupid, but if it was any smarter, it would kinda defeat the point of having them there, its annoying rather than a fault, and thats probably what helps make this great.

To sum up: This is epic, you are epic, and the zombie series just became epic again :D

Roadkill Morning!

I don't usually like games that are this repeatitive but, well... I'm hooked. The radio messages really make the athmosphere and give you a sense that you're making progress, not just driving the same straight road over and over again. Upgrading you're car into a frinkin' carriage of death is so traditional zombie apocalypse stuff that I just can't help loving it. And when you also have a chance of earning a ton of medals... perfect.

The only negative thing about this game is the difficulty, but as I said, I don't usually play games like this (I'm more of the puzzle-type), so I wont take off points for that. Nice job.

Definitely deserving of the front page. The graphics were fantastic, the music was just perfect for the setting, the programming is excellent, I haven't found a single bug yet and the voice acting is top notch.

The atmosphere you've created was fantastic, just sitting there in the middle of the day and then BAM, zombie attack. You don't know what caused it, you don't know how far it's spread, but your character just knows he needs to get the fuck out of there. The sheer panic and destruction you see in the streets as you plow on through with your own personal frikkin batmobile strikes an amazing feeling within players. That you can watch your car go from a safe little bubble into a wide open scrap of metal is a brilliant touch and sets a wonderful feeling of vulnerability and tension. Of course, there's the obvious flaws, such as the military using a frequency accessible by your average radio, but the dialogue you get from that station is more than awesome enough to overlook it. If I had one genuine complaint though, it would be that one of the medals is a spoiler. "Nuke Watcher" specifically

Be warned, readers, there are spoilers ahead.

Gameplay aside, my favorite part of this game is the characters. I really appreciate the lengths you went to to make the characters actual people instead of just props to move the action along. In writing your characters so brilliantly, with minimal story, you've managed to make a fairly morally complex adventure that makes this game stand out amongst the mindless blood and gore fests of many other zombie outbreak type games. The character we play isn't a perfect shining knight, he's a real human. He's determined to survive and is willing to do anything to get it. If innocent people have to die along the way, he's sorry about it, but, like most real people, his survival instinct drives him through.

I also loved that you didn't simply paint the military as an evil power hungry organization as is so easy to do. True, they are your enemy and your obstacles, but they aren't evil. They're doing what they believe is best for the sake of humanity. For all they know, you could be infected and your escape from the city could mean spreading this virus to the rest of the world. This makes it not such a mindless affair when you must harm, and even kill them for the sake of your own survival. Even the general isn't the ever popular ignorant, power hungry, authoritarian type. He's a man with a job to protect the general public, a job which he takes very seriously. The decision to drop the nuke is one you can tell he doesn't make lightly. In his mind, it is what must be done for the sake of the rest of the world and you can hear in in his voice (once again a credit to the amazing voice actors) his iron resolve, but at the same time how much he is saddened by lives that will be lost. These characters are truly what made the game for me

I apologize, as I realize I am not the best at putting my thoughts into words, but I hope you understand the general idea of what I'm trying to say. I just want you to know that the effort you put into creating good characters was noticed and very much appreciated.

Overall, this was top notch work and I'll definitely be checking out some of your previous submissions

Evil-Dog responds:

Man, your review has almost moved me to tears of joy haha, honestly, you're like a dream come true haha all the things I've thought about, the moral balance of the characters, the general not being an evil man but just doing what needs to be done for the greater good, to save his men and all these finer points of game making, you're pointing them out and appreciating them, which is absolutly amazing from where I'm sitting. Thanks so much for such a nice review. Props to the voice actor indeed for making it all come to life brilliantly. And props to Selcuk (from SoS) for the amazing music and major props to SickDeathFiend with who I now work with. Couldn't have done it without them.

You're totally right about the Nuke watcher achievement though, totally haven't thought about that when we named it, we will in the future. Also right about the normal radio catching military comms, not realistic but oh well :D

thanks again for this nice review, makes my day
