Wow that took a while.
This is a game I started makin in September 2008. It didn't take all that time to make, it's actually bin finished on my hard drive for months, but it was a absolute fucking HELL to finish.
I was aiming for somethin between Devil May Cry and Bionic Commando ReArmed. I wanted to make a game that people would see as a "game" and not a "flash game" or "web game". Also I wanted to put all the people making tower defenses, catapult clones n top-down shooters to shame, and show everyone that it's 2010 and we don't have to make over-pixelated chiptune games any more with crappy rotating limbs n slideshow cutscenes.
But I don't wanna sound like a jerk, I just wanted to make the best thing I possibly could.
I'd love for cutscenes to be available everywhere, but they literally won't fit in the .fla. I can't import anything n I can barely export it it's so damn big, so I hope noone's too annoyed about that.
Oh well. Have fun with it.

First off...
FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T UPGRADE: Drag the upgrade you want to one of the coasters on the bar. =-)
Review: Agreement with previous posters. Very nicely done, very fluid. Controls can be a bit shaky at times, though, and there is a fairly large number of bugs to be found.
Overall review: 3/5, 7/10
(Oh, and discovered while writing this review: If you move the mouse offscreen, the gun starts auto-firing.)

Found Bug
If you run to the right side of the screen when fighting the first boss...when the flame-face jumps and runs towards you on the right, you jump over him and run to the left, he disappears, leaving the encounter unbeatable.

I Digg It
I liked the game alot. Just one thing. i swear i couldn't figure out how to use the perks & whatnot i bought in the shop. i cant seem to equip them :(

HOLLYSHITISPENTMORETHAN2HOURSANDDIDNTNOTICED!!!
THAT game was epic, really! i mean the stairway in the beggining of level 7 WITH epic music just fitted in harmony to make the composal of EPICNESS. it was the most entretaining plataformer game EVAR! the mix of the real classics was just incredible (i've tried to kill the big- a** robot like solid snake, hehe). the levels had each their unique theme and i think it gave the gam a lot much more to enjoy. I gotta say i'm a fan of the kind of games that are DMC (devilmaycry) style. the controls was one of the good attributes in the list and the combination of sword and gun (dual pistol mostly) gives (at least me) the impression of "men this is a game worth of playing" and actually was...
too bad that there is a glitch and cannot replay level 7: in the scene after the stairs, after you fight the demons, there spawn five skeletons which , if i don't kill they dissapear. I GET STUCK ON THE BL***Y MIDDLE OF THE GAME. I beg you to fix this so I can play the end of this flash masterpiece.
10/10 and 5/5 for obvious reasons... keep it up, it doesn't matter if you spend two years... sweat, blood and tears will be worth the reward.
P.D.:and for the people that doesn't know how to use the upgrades: AFTER YOU BOUGHT THEM YOU HAVE TO DRAG THEM IN THE SLOTS

The Absolute WORST controls I have ever seen
The game COULD be great, but one, The controls are terrible, and the game is slow, not to mention the gun doesnt work sometimes, and two, THE BUGS! I cant complete ANY STAGE on the first try because of the glitches, I FELL THROUGH THE GROUND AND DIED
